Carlos Tevez vows never to return to Manchester.
http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/13704323.stm
The video speaks for itself really. But this is terrible news for Manchester City, if Tevez does go, they have nobody who can carry the team the way he can, Balotelli and Dzeko are not gonna be able to fill that hole. I don't think there is another striker City could realistically sign that would be able to replace Tevez.
The thing I'm thinking though is that Tevez is going to be able to leave, his wages are stupidly high and he'd definetly require a big transfer fee on top of that, City aren't gonna let him go on the cheap. So whether he likes it or not, Tevez may have to return to Manchester.

Tevez is the key to City's success but the two players that I believe are getable that could replace him are Drogba and Eto'o

Why would Man City be interested in either of them as they are both over 30. With the money they have they can sign any striker they wantthe-gaffer wrote:Tevez is the key to City's success but the two players that I believe are getable that could replace him are Drogba and Eto'o

Can you think of many strikers better braveheart? I can only think of Villa as one I would definetly rate higher, and he would be incredibly hard to get.
I don't actually think Drogba or Eto'o could carry the side like Tevez does though, they don't work as hard as he does for the side.

The only two other potential big name players out there that are possibly on the market (though with City's wealth anyone is potentially available) are Aguero and Higuan, the problem with both of them is they're Argentinian and Tevez will be telling them on International duty etc not to go to Manchester.
Re: Carlos Tevez vows never to return to Manchester.
I know what you mean theyre both class players but are in their 30's so i would expect City to look at younger players like Aguero, Pato or possibly even Benzema

Fernando, he says he never wants to go back to Manchester, not for a vacation, for no reason will he go back.

But then they'd be paying him to do nothing...and let him go for nothing.

Does that really matter to City?
They're in a very lucky position compared to other clubs in that they can't be held to ransom by players.

Re: Carlos Tevez vows never to return to Manchester.
Considering he's supposed to be on over 200 grand a week as well as the fact they would surely have to replace him with another top striker it would matter to them. Although they have a lot of money, it doesn't mean they'll throw it away on nothing.

Braveheart age doesn't matter to City, both those players mentioned are two that I'd consider 'gauranteed goals' and experianced winners is exactly what Man City need, not like either are past it, guys like Augero are top players but I wouldn't be anywhere near as confident he'd score the level of goals Eto'o or Drogba would get next season

I'd also disagree that Eto'o doesn't work hard, I think he is one of the hardest working top strikers around

Do you really think City would pay 20-30 million for Drogba and only get a couple of seasons out of him. They could probably get Aguero or Benzema for 25 million and they could be there for the next 7 or 8 yearsthe-gaffer wrote:Braveheart age doesn't matter to City, both those players mentioned are two that I'd consider 'gauranteed goals' and experianced winners is exactly what Man City need, not like either are past it, guys like Augero are top players but I wouldn't be anywhere near as confident he'd score the level of goals Eto'o or Drogba would get next season

Course I do, money is no object and Neither of those guys have the EPL experiance Drogba would bring, infact it would be a no brainer

Re: Carlos Tevez vows never to return to Manchester.
As a player I like Tevez but sometimes his whole outlook is all wrong, he lacks respect.
Does he not think of all the fans that buy the City shirts that bear his name? Kids that genuinely idolise him.
He just comes across as a bit of a spoiled thick kid. So he would never holiday in Manchester? Perhaps he's grown annoyed at trying to find the beach!
Can't stick his agent either. That Kia geezer looks like one of them slimy types off an episode of Hustle.
And where would he go? He'd have to go back to Argentina as he 'misses his family' so much otherwise he'd look like an either bigger idiot. And it's not like he'd get in the Barca or Real Madrid team.

Yes money might not be an object to City but once the UEFA rules come in to effect they wont be able to go and spend money in that way againthe-gaffer wrote:Course I do, money is no object and Neither of those guys have the EPL experiance Drogba would bring, infact it would be a no brainer

So it would make sense to spend it while they can

Re: Carlos Tevez vows never to return to Manchester.
How do you work that out. The rules come into effect next season so Drogba will still be there earning 100-150k a week. Id guess by the end of next season Citys players wage bill will be around 120-150 million a year, transfers another 50-80 million on top of the 400 million they have spent over the past 3-4 years. If Chelsea lost 70-80 million last season i cant imagine how much City lost and how they are going to break even by the end of 2013.the-gaffer wrote:So it would make sense to spend it while they can

I know mate, I just think with his work rate and his ability to score goals I think he could take Villa's spot, I've never felt Villa was the best fit at Barca but thats just a personal opinion, the guy scored 25 goals plus a CL clincher so if anyone disagreed with me I'd definitely understand why

He's not in Villa's league, or Aguero's. City are better off without, all he is, is a fat big headed idiot, now i've never been to Manchester, but you can't just say there's nothing for me to do without learning the language and socialising with the Manchester people, they pay your wages you big fat lardy whinger, now on your bike.

Braveheart while the ruling comes into effect next summer, from what I've read all contracts signed and sealed prior to the ruling are ok, thats why many predict a hectic summer of major signings

Towzer its all well saying he isn't in their league but where talking about the EPL and he is the only one we can say for sure would score that volume of goals for City, if it where so easy then the rest would be helping him out

Yaya Toure got their biggest goals last season, Man u Semis, Stoke final, Aguero is a much better player than him, he's a whinger and doesn't want to know when things aren't happening for him. Man City have given him pay rises, listened to him, he is taking advantage. Big fat greedy selfish idiot, they could buy Neymar.

There will be ways around the new ruling anyway. Good business men find loopholes under their beds!

Re: Carlos Tevez vows never to return to Manchester.
Thats what I thought but it seems that alot of transfer payments are spread over the length of the players contract so they will be included in the clubs accounts for 2012-15the-gaffer wrote:Braveheart while the ruling comes into effect next summer, from what I've read all contracts signed and sealed prior to the ruling are ok, thats why many predict a hectic summer of major signings

Good businessmen dont run their buisinesses at a 70-100 million annual loss.

Good business men don't operate at a loss full stop but we are talking about a different animal here. I can see future Man City signings being paid the 'norm' and then having their bank accounts beefed up with ridiculous ambassadorial role payments earned after promoting their club by making the odd appearance in Dubai here or there.
Not that we'll ever know!

Re: Carlos Tevez vows never to return to Manchester.
I think Villa fits into the Barca system better than Tevez would, it's Villa's drifting to the wings that really helps Barca. It means the central defenders never know whether they're gonna have Messi, Villa or Pedro running at them because they swap around so much, I think Tevez is more of a central forward than Villa.
I think Villa doesn't look as good in the Barca side because he doesn't have to score as many goals as he does for Spain or did for Valencia because of Messi and Pedro.
I think Tevez would struggle to fit into the Barca side, the only non-spanish guys in there are Messi, Alves and Abidal, and Messi has been there since he was very young. Tevez is struggling to get into the Argentina squad because the manager is supposedly trying to recreate Barca as well.

£80-100m would come in handy when Uefa Financial Fair Play rules kick in though. Especially if Man City want to spend big again this summer.

Naymar would make Balotelli look like Gary Lineker, great player but so petulant, Tevez over him every day of the week

Leak I appreciate what you're saying but Argentina wont replicate Barca because they haven't got the system installed into them, only at club level can that happen, I also agree to an extent about Villa but I feel he isn't playing his natural game at Barca, I do feel Tevez could do just as good a job but give more to the team
