Tomorrow is Wednesday - Discuss
A seasoned poster on a rugby thread made a loose claim that tomorrow is Wednesday.
Is he right? How does he know? Is he aware that tomorrow might not come? Is he aware that if North Korea pressed the Nuke button, that America would probably follow and that then Russia would follow and then of course Ireland would be forced to release their secret weapon too... a super-fast military dingy with an actual gun on it.
But anyway, I think said poster is jumping the gun in assuming tomorrow will happen at all. And anyway, when it's Wednesday in Wales, it's early Thursday in Sydney!

Time is a construct, man made, so there is no Wednesday.

By the way, Laurie, now that you are/were here, and on a different day too, which is very nice of you - can you tell us who actually won the vote? Was it South Africa like we all thought? And did them bleedin' WRU boys do the dirty on their friendly neighbours?

As Wednesday is such an experienced day of the week I think it is only fair that it is given a chance to be the first day of the week.

Laughably ignorant, lost!
Wednesday is only a mid-week player! Always has been, always will be. Where the hell do you think it's going to pick up the working-through-a-hangover skills and experience of Monday?

But there lies the problem. Monday is so inefficient. It doesn't really start doing anything until mid way through the day. Wednesday on the other hand is a peak performer going hard from first thing in the morning. Surely the week would benefit from starting so much faster.

The day English rugby fans stop banging on about being the 2nd best team in the world and realize they are at best 3rd and more likely 4th but hey ho, by Friday they might have figured it out.

a) That is way too serious and nothing to do with this thread
b) A rank is just a number. All that really matters are the wins, and there have been a lot of those recently

Monday is not the start of the week, but the start of the buildup to the weekend
By that philosophy, Wednesday is the key to the soul of the weekend,

Friday would be far better at being tomorrow than Thursday
Did you know that Friday has broken the record for the number of times being the day after Thursday? Why should Thursday hog being tomorrow
Its favouritism and Thursday has been put on a pedestal
Everyone agrees Friday is a better day than Thursday, so it should be tomorrow

BamBam, call me conservative, but I've never known the weekend to not arrive after Friday. There's been a weekend after every Friday that I can remember (I may be wrong on this, feel free to correct). I really enjoy the weekend so leave the order as it is, it's working fine.

Has anyone considered why Plutarch likes the days of the week in this order? I don't think he is putting any of them on a pedestal.

Totally wrong thinking.
Thursday is the happiest day of the week because it's the only day of the week that knows the weekend is actually going to happen - It looks forward to Friday so the mood is sky high.
Friday itself is a f**k of a day. It's pretends to be the party animal, letting-your-hair-down day, but it's usually just too busy to be in any mood to really be happy. It has to endure bigger traffic jams, it has to get through more people pushing you out of the way in shopping aisles, it has to look in the mirror 40 or 50 times before deciding on the right pair of trousers for that f**king party it has to go to that it never wanted to attend!

It's Wednesday in 1994 where I am, judging by the clothes people are wearing round here (up 'The Valleys').

1994 was a good year, wish I could get back to it....might have to go live in The Valleys.
It was I think the End of the Great 20th Century (Greatest Ever that this Planet will ever witness) before the dawning of the NEW bloody technological INFOTASTIC revolution. Now all I see are Human Units from sector G, swiping their fingers over and back across lit screens for 15, 20mins at a time as they sit having lunch with their Family Familiar Units: Code Number B_X45G

Re: Tomorrow is Wednesday - Discuss
1986 was the best for me, although I was only 9. But mainly because of the films from around that time. Amazing. Although... maybe I'm just thinking of the USA in 1986. Yeah, USA in 1986 (which I never visited) was the best ever. Due to the films:
Ferris Beuller, Crocodile Dundee, Top Gun, Stand by Me, Golden Child, Aliens, Platoon, Cobra, Big Trouble in Little China, The Fly, Highlander, Labyrinth, Little Shop of Horrors, Karate Kid 2, Short Circuit, Flight of the Navigator, The Money Pit, Howard the Duck, Critters, Three Amigos. All in 1986.
I'm not really into films but that was when renting a film was a big thing. F*ck the technology of the noughties and beyond! 80's was king (in America).

'86 was a particularly good year: Stand By Me, Pet Shop Boys' Please and my dropgoal from the only attempt I ever made, even if it was from right in front of the posts and scraped against the crossbar and right upright. It was also a fine year on the school cricket front as it's the only year in which I didn't make a first-ball duck.

Get over yourselves! What a bloody silly thread.
All days of the week are equal.
Are some of you racist against Friday? Are you sexist against Wednesday? Are you transphobic about that day of the week that I'm not even prepared to mention lest it get bullied online!?

Anyway, the 80s were good--ish...but in a crap way. The 60s were good in an ultra cool way. The 70s.... f**King wombles, Keith Chegwin and Gary Glitter (whose name can not be mentioned)!...What the hell happened that decade? It got lost in a gloom of brown carpet, brown trousers, brown wallpaper, and brown picketlines.....
