The curse
Whispered secrets of a shattered age,
I command you, renew this sage
By what creeps, by what crawls,
By what dies not,
Let it grow old, recede and rot.
Thus I had placed a curse on this board for the ruthless and relentless bullying I suffered at the hands of no name Bertie, temporary21 and Haddie-nuff.
The effects of the curse have born fruition and the board has whithered away.
2 have been vanquished and only remains.
Chapeau

Re: The curse
It has died because it is just a bunch of pleasantry exchanges between Federer and Nadal fans. If ever a board needed a WUM injection it is this one.
The board is also dying because there is a lack of new talent coming through to discuss. The same old faces win all the big tournaments yet peculiarly, in this ever cynical world, no board members have an atom of doubt about the same old players' remarkable longevity and successes despite cynicism running high in most other physical sports.
At the end of the day this is just a coffee morning of a board, with the members being like posh post-menopausal women discussing water colours and knitting patterns.

Re: The curse
Tennis messageboards appear to be in decline - I'm aware of at least 2 that have folded in last couple of years, but whilst traffic is down on what it used to be on here, I think it is still in reasonable health and there are still some good quality discussions going on. I think there's a lot of 'lurkers' who don't post a huge amount on here - would be interesting to see why that may be.

There is no need to glorify your own failures, it is bad for one's self-esteem.

Since you are also a member posting on 606v2, what does that say about your identity, or lack thereof...
