England summer tour
Right dust has settled and time for some optimism. Assuming lions are rested who should tour? I'm putting in Robson, Willis, Armand, Ewers, LCD, Harry Williams, Tom Dunne, Zac Mercer, Ruby Murrays, velacott, Slade, tuilagi, solomona, lewington, Sam James, Ford, Marcus Smith, Clifford if fit, the harlequins eight who I can't remember, Tommy Taylor if fit (wasp biased sorry). Missed loads I know. Discuss

Re: England summer tour
1 year out from the world cup and the players looked wrecked and yet can we afford to send a completely new side....im not sure we can or should. We need to fix some of the things that went so horribly wrong.....
Itoje, Farrell, Kruis, Mako, Cole need a summer off.
Which Scrum half will take us forward?
Robson?
Michael Young is the player he was before he left the falcons. Outstanding in a team currently 4th in the prem.
I'd like Eddie to go for it and pick a front row of...
1 Genge
2 Dunn
3 Sinkler
Now that would have impact - like the Irish and Kiwi front rows. Not like Dan Cole who is invisible.
The back row HAS to be fixed! Robshaw has been mr outstandingly consistent...does he deserve a rest or must he travel.
Curry x 2, Underhill, Mercer, need to be looked at.
Armand, Ewers? Guy Thompson? Gary Graham...
Nathan Hughes just isn't the player who broke on the scene in the prem. His lack of explosiveness at this level is alarming considering that's what he is known for.
Will Spencer at Lock? Isiekwe..to start? Does Launchbury need a rest or is he a must in this side v SA
A midfield of maybe...
10 Ford
12 T'eo (Switching with Slade)
13 Slade (Switching with T'eo)
Either way Slade needs to come in to the equation!
Where does Daly fit best. Is he the one to take over from Brown...as its not Watson. Keep him on the wing!
Lots of questions for this England coaching team.

Re: England summer tour
I would like to see some of the under 20 players on the summer tour.
That Gabriel Ibitoye( spelling) Built like a brick out house at really fast on the wing.
Also the number 15 Cannot think of his name, similar to the winger i just mentioned above.
We have to start and bring these players on now, as the current England team cannot go on forever, we need some fresh blood in the team.

Daly is best at 13 but can play a blinder at 15, has done so for wasps but seasons ago now. Still think tuilagi has some good Rugby in him and was looking good at Leicester recently and actually distributed a little as well. Under hill is out for ages isn't he?

Re: England summer tour
Manu is a big ?
Yea he's back playing consecutive games and doing so well. Maybe we leave him for the moment though
What a happened to Sam James at Sale?
Marchant at Quins?
Spade must be given a run now..He's class.
I think Daly is suited to FB. Has all the attributes..however is his defence strong enough? Watson has proved his isn't.
We need to fix a few areas and also get the tactics sorted..that's key.
If Underhill Is injured it's easy for me...Curry starts at 7.

This summer we have questions over positions 2,7,8,9,13,15.
Need to find suitable replacements or starters for all of those

What we need is some inside centres. Can you remember the days of twelve trees!

I said hes a big ? (question mark)
I wouldn't take him to SA. He needs to have another good summer, an awesome preseason and be pulling up trees at the start of next season then I would consider him.
I am concerned about our centres though. I just don't rate T'eo that highly. Slade I do however..i think we need to find a place for him maybe at 13, but floating between that and 12.
I just wish we had a few more options who offered some genuine steel & guile at 12. Theres not a huge amount. Such a shame Burrell just never made it..and 36.
I had hoped Sam James might make the step up...id still consider him for the tour.
What about Trinder for 13 aswell. Marchant?
Its just such a problem area.

Re: England summer tour
Like Geordie’s Slade call and someone else on a different thread calling for Daly/Brown fullback share with Daly swapping to wing later on whilst Brown finishes...

Re: England summer tour
Teo hasn’t quite hit critical mass yet in my opinion, he seemed quite broken when Worcester acquired him and only just (hopefully) getting fixed. Hope he can make a big impression soon.

Re: England summer tour
Well maybe Stub, we shall see , but at the moment he falls into the same category as Hughes (imo).
Brought in for explosive power, and big carrying capability and both have been left well and truly wanting at this level.

Can’t blame you for feeling that way, it certainly remains to be proved as yet.
