World Cup Trivia Quiz
Put a quiz together for something else, thought I'd share it here to kill the time between team announcements and games. Don't use google or look at anyone else's answers, your knowledge only please. Entries shut at 4:30pm BST, results out at 5pm.
Round 1: (no negative marking)
1a - Which year had the highest scoring final? (1 point)
1b - What was the exact score? (1 point)
2 - Which is the only team to win a game to-nil and lose a game to-nil? (1 point)
3 - Three matches have occurred twice in the same World Cup? Name all 3 matches with their year (3 points)
4 - Which player scored the first World Cup final conversion this millennium and in what year? (1 point)
Round 2: (negative marking in place)
5 - Name EITHER the youngest try scorer in a World Cup game OR the oldest try scorer in a World Cup game (2 points for correct, -2 for incorrect)
6 - name a country that has only ever appeared in 1 World Cup between 1987 - 2015 inclusive (1 point for correct, -1 for incorrect).
7 - name a country that has appeared at a World Cup and never won a game (2 points for correct, -2 for incorrect)
8 - name a country that has appeared at every World Cup and never qualified from the groups (1 point for correct, -1 for incorrect)
9 - name a country that has qualified for the quarter finals on at least 1 occasion and never progressed further (2 points for correct, -2 for incorrect)

13 - the biggest winning margin in a World Cup match was Australia vs Namibia in 2003. What was the winning margin? (3 points for correct, 2 point for within 2, 1 point for within 5)

14 - how many times have a team not in the current Rugby Championship or Six Nations beat a team that is in the current Rugby Championship or Six Nations? (you get 5 bonus points if you get the answer exactly correct, you get 0 if you leave it blank and if you get it wrong you will lose points. You will lose 1 point for every game away you are)

14 - Hopefully you mean you lose a mark from the 5 available not going into zero. I can think of 5 occurrences Japan v SA (2015), Tonga v France (2011), Fiji v Wales (2007), Samoa v Wales (1999) and Western Samoa v Wales (1991)

I can't give you the correct answer to 11 but I can say I was there and by the end of the evening I feel I was freinds with every single person who attended.
Also drank a very small pub dry of Guinness after. Well me and a few hundred other Irish men. And one cute Portuguese girl

- happy to review your scores if you disagree. Everyone scored 1 on the bonus for saying 5 (9-5 = 4. 5-4 = 1) except BamBam who score -1 for saying 3 (9-3 = 6. 5-6 = -1). The only other negative mark was for Fluxy who incorrectly naming Uruguay as a team who had qualified for every tournament but never made a quarter-final - they have only qualified for 5 cups.

I never knew 9 was the answer to the wee teams beating the big teams. For one I actually forgot that Italy are considered a big team, and I completely forgot that France were done by Tonga
