I would have Gilchrist for those reasons.

Andy Flower better batsman, and i rate him with the gloves, therefore he gets in over gilly for me.

Should a 'keepers batting be so important in deciding who should 'keep for a World XI?
Surely, as long as they can contribute reasonably with the bat, their skill with the gloves should be paramount. Therefore Alan Knott, a very passable batsman but also, more importantly, one of the best glovemen of all-time, should get the nod IMO.
