A consistent show "betting" competition: Explanation and Show One
Hello, ladies and boys. Or, as some would say:
Feel free to skip this if you understand betting and predictions.
I thought we could ramp up this little return and find ways to keep the entertainment on the site that gives us the chance to get involved when promos are hard to write and shows are a way off. Also, greater involvement in the fed keeps it alive and the genuine interest rewards JJ for his effort. I know from my time running this fed that you are all, bar none, even the ones who weren't in at the time, absolute c***s and it is impossible to feel any real joy in seeing any of you smile.
Anyway, enough of my therapy sessions. WELCOME BACK! 6CW is alive again, what a joy. And I have put this here, with the same zealous approach to quickly giving up on a side "project" that any good 6CW participant would go to. Predictions, but with a gambler's credit bank - enough to give the problem bettor's the return of the itch or even the encouragement to funnel back into a lifetime of addiction.
The boy here, this lad Dolphin, is gonna try and consider odds for the matches, based on kayfabe and no more scientific a quota than "it was the decision I made." And you thought I was done talking about my booking
We start with 8 matches, but I will give you a 200 points initial credit. 5 points minimum bet, every match/bout must be bet on, whilst there will also be "specials" throughout the process (And if you haven't considered it, that means you don't have to bet your balance on this show)
If you bottom out, lose it all, you can have 100 points again, but it will be taken off your final tally. Bottom out again, 100 points but 200 extra points taken off the tally (with the 100 from before too). Complicated? It doesn't matter, I'll be dealing with it.
I'll be using fractional odds, so you'll get returns with 0.5 etc.
I'm using credit betting rather than points because we can all back a certainty for one point, but an outside shot getting the same? That's ludicrous.
So, basic. You have 200 points. You must bet 5 points per match. If you cannot, I'll sort it out later.
Please don't be offended from your price/another person is favourite. It's all trying to base on an idea, not a preference. And you can always prove me wrong. (And I'll price it like a bookie)
The amount on the right is how you much would put on to get a profit of the amount on the left. DRAW NO BET, DRAW NO BET, DRAW NO BET - Betting on draws is a horrible way to live

The special bets are limited to 30, normal bets I presume are unlimited.

Although while it hasn't begun yet, worth ironing these details out.
(As in, if Chris wants an overall limit of 30 then speak now before it gets complicated!)

Re: A consistent show "betting" competition: Explanation and Show One
I read it as "30 per bet at most" because Marky had put a lot of O'Callaghan...otherwise I'm lumping the rest of my fake money on that match.

It's because I put 160 on the "All three ??? guys to win" Special at 4/1, and the minimum of 5 on each match.

Re: A consistent show "betting" competition: Explanation and Show One
Results: Helms, O'Callaghan, Cerberus, Phillips, Onyx, NR, Draw, Harris - Refunds on bout 6 and bout 7
No refunds on the ??? accumulator special
Only 2 submission victories
More than three unnamed characters (Cerberus, Hero, Engel,
Costello)
Totals include any remaining points not staked.
Marky: , 238.17
Hero: 262.75
Between me and Hero, we seemed to have had Hero betting more than his 200 bank. As the rules required him to have 5 on each, I will take the 25 back by deducting 15 of his stake on O'Callaghan and 10 from his stake on ??? (5 off each alternating from first to last, back and forth).
Olly: 206.48
Beer: 380.67
Twist: 160.17
Engel: 219.18
Liam: 259.17
Liam has done the same as Hero, but has more matches over 5 minimum. Need to subtract 100, so will do 5 from each, starting from match one, then back through again till down to 200.
