Dubois Vs Joyce

The full article is above but this Poopie really grinds my gears
A defeat would dampen some of the hype around the London-based fighter, potentially damage his profile in the short term and slow down progress to his dream of competing for a world title.
Maybe he shouldn't bother and just fight journeymen then ffs[
This is why we don't get the fights we want if even reporters are saying it might be a bad idea

Re: Dubois Vs Joyce
What happens when multiple belts are on offer......Fair play to Dillian Whyte one of the few to earn their shots....
No chance of Hagler types surviving Philly wars on the way to Middleweight title success anymore..
Fighters get the title shot easier....but how much does it affect their progress ??
Josh Taylor fighting O'hara Davies is another rare excursion and no doubt gave him bags of confidence to go with experience......Better win in itself than 30-0 vs stiffs..
Get your frustration but its wasted my friend....The ship has left the shore and it has a leak in the Bow....

Re: Dubois Vs Joyce
I've not really followed boxing outside of a couple of the British likes AJ and Callum Smith for a few years now. A lack of quality fights and too long between them (cough Brook cough), it's hard to get behind the sport when it doesn't really give the fans anything back in return any more. The David Haye comeback against nobodies and the subsequent losses to Bellew really were the final straw.
Like Truss, big fan of Whyte and how he goes about things. He's fought and beaten better opposition than Wilder has outside of Fury which sums things up at the moment.

Re: Dubois Vs Joyce
The thing to remember is it's not the boxers who don't want the fights. It's all to do with the money men and squeezing as much as possible from their respective cash cows. If a boxer wants to duck another fighter it is because of nothing more than money. If it's a worry that they're going to lose, they're either in the wrong sport or they're just taking the money and running anyway.
What we should applaud is that in today's Boxing world, we have 2 unbeaten and half decent heavies who are prepared to go at it with scant regard for their records. Whilst it may not have quite the draw of a Mason-Lewis in the early 90s, but it is an intriguing match-up. Both can bang, one is a KO specialist whilst the other has an extensive amateur record, with a 100% KO record.
Marketing-wise, it would of course be far better to have the younger and more articulate Dubois as the winner, as Joyce is extremely awkward in front of the camera and in interviews. However, Joyce is a well-schooled boxer, and if he can weather Dubois' likely bomb-throwing, it'll make for an interesting bout. Joyce of course can also bang a bit, so at some stage Daniel will get chin-checked, and we don't know what will happen either way. I think this turns into a back and forth bombs away fest with neither backing down. I wouldn't mind betting that both hit the deck. Gun to head I will say Joyce by split decision, but it could quite easily go the other way. Here's hoping that it actually gets agreed and made.
