Cricket quiz a day - to help during corona less Cricket times!
King_Carlos's post in the Surrey thread of a sporcle quiz got me thinking - to help kill a little time a day, posting a new sporcle quiz on cricket to see which posters know their stuff and who uses google to help
I'll try to remember to pop one up each morning.
Today's quiz: - Can you name the Test cricket players to play for England since 2000? Updated August 31st 2019. https://www.sporcle.com/games/Poos/england_2000s
Disgusting 71/120 for me. Shameful

Finn
Bresnan
Sidebottom
Key
Malan
Plunkett
Vince
Tremlett
Hales
Stoneman
Denly
Hameed
The obvious ones I missed.
That doesn't include getting Ball going for Ballance, Roland-Jones for Simon Jones and Kadir Ali so probably close to 69.

Obvious ones I missed - Jennings, Plunkett, Vince, Denly, Jordan, Overton.
And didn't get him, but just reminded me how ridiculous Martin Bicknell's Test career was! Two Tests in 1993, 10 years, and then two tests in 2003 where he took 10 wickets!

Pleased with that. Several ones from the early noughties that I got but then I missed Denly and Vince from recent years.
Annoyed that I missed Sidebottom and Key. Two players I really enjoyed watching play cricket.
I was desperately wracking my brain for tried and discarded spinners but still couldn't conjure up about a dozen of them. England really have been through a serious number of spinners given they rarely pick more than one. Given that Mo, Swann, Panesar and Giles played a good number of tests between them it's remarkable the number they have been through!

I got Bicknell, for some reason he and Kirtley getting a few early wickets against South Africa only for Kirsten to score a mercurial century sticks in my memory.

There were only a few more I should have got with a pair of brothers the most notable misses, there were 11 i've never heard of.

I got Atherton and Stewart as a last gasp guess but didn't think either of them would be up; a lot of mediocrity goes a lot further than I assumed.

23 - the only ones I missed that I would have hoped to get were Boon, Morris, Sutcliffe and Taylor. Rest, no chance.

21 for me there. Not my best effort.
Annoyed to miss the Chappell brothers. I was reading a long article about Trumper just the other day too.
I missed Bill Lawry out as well. A great cricketer but phenomenal commentator so I more usually connect him with the latter.

A fun little one that many often miss one or two from due to the short time allowance!

I should have got Greg Chappell and his by default but I always forget about Ian in all honesty. Boon and Eldrich were the other two i'm annoyed about but then again it took me 5 minutes to remember Bradman.

That may be bad, but no worse than me forgetting Gooch on the Ashes run-scorers list.

40 for me.
I'd have hoped to get Jayasuria, Gavaskar and Fleming from the year and country. Rohit Sharma and Azhar Ali were my misses from recent years.
Lawrence Rowe is a fascinating player. A short career due injuries and an allergy to grass but he features twice in that list.

72 on that one, many of the same names as a previous quiz. Zimbabwe and Bangladesh let me down and missed one English player.
