Can't wait for this actually. I choose to enjoy the sunshine instead of watching Ireland hockey Italy yesterday, so I need my rugby fix.

Re: Leinster vs Glasgow Warriors Match Thread
I think it will be a standard issue Leinster win at the RDS, but i'm excited to see the young Glasgow back three get their chance, Shug back at 13 and hopefully Uncle Nak with a better performance.
I'm really glad Wilson is giving the younger players a shot, unlikely to win today but no matter what team we put out we are likely to lose, so might as well prepare these younger guys for the future.

Yeah it seems a pretty good line-up for both sides. I struggle to recognise the Irish second team players but generally assume they'll be very good haha. Fardy and Toner in the second row vs Gray and Naks is a nice match up. Agree with you on Wilson EST.

Jones first touch in attack at 13 in what feels like ages and he bursts through a tackle and offloads for the assist. What the heck have Glasgow and the SRU been doing??

These 2 Irish Commentators are doing my head in.
I get that every premier sports commentary is pretty one eyed depending where it is played, but these 2 are off the scale!

They have praised Glasgow’s play where it’s warranted and were almost gushing over the try.
Try listening to Welsh ones.

A very promising attack breaks down when Naks can't get the ball away. He is blowing like a steam train already

Glasgow playing much better. Leinster don’t know where to tackle at times.

If Glasgow could score before HT, we might have a decent game here

Byrne gone off. Not good. Big game for Hawkshaw to run the tiller.

Re: Leinster vs Glasgow Warriors Match Thread
Ten years ago the Leinster player would have been penalised for that (Lee Byrne on Southwell incident). Clumsy challenge and now Glasgow are pretty buggered. What a strange match.

In real time I did think Hastings did something strange but play moved on. Such a daft thing to do.

I think he was over balancing backwards, but you catch the head these days and that's that.
A shame really, both for him and the game

Re: Leinster vs Glasgow Warriors Match Thread
I'm beginning to feel stupid for mentioning the good work of Wilson at the start of this thread.
Positives, positives.. Forbes looks very sharp, he's a great signing. Jones has his mojo back and is on fire in his preferred position. I'd love it if he can start at 13 for Scotland against Ireland in two weeks. Hastings looked good until he fly kicked Byrne in the face.

Re: Leinster vs Glasgow Warriors Match Thread
Apparently Toonie asked DW to play Jones at 13, saying he needed some game time there.
He has been the stand out for us so far and is going to give Toonie a headache. Trouble is i watched the bath Gloucester game on friday and Harris also played very well. He will be very hard to drop atm

Re: Leinster vs Glasgow Warriors Match Thread
Well two things are jumping out at me; Big Nak's knackered and shouldn't be anywhere near the pitch until he's marginally fitter than than the overweight imposter who's wearing his jersey, secondly, Rob Harley has missed three or four tackles and looks well off the pace too. Have the years finally caught up with him?
It's a shame for Harry Byrne, failed HIA is no laughing matter, as he was looking superb out there.
Leinster are looking to run it from everywhere and are looking positive and dangerous whenever they have the ball.
The game's probably over but Glasgow could have put more points on the board and made more of a contest of it.
Ironically HUgh Jones is looking like a very, very good 13.

Yeah could well be, but still a clumsy thing to do. One of those once in your career brain fart moments unless you're Jim Hamilton or Ryan Wilson (both feature on Rugby Pass now ironically).

Not overly impressed with Frank Murphy tonight...although he did make me laugh at one ruck, "Ryan! Don't do that."

Re: Leinster vs Glasgow Warriors Match Thread
Just watched the Hastings red again in the HT repeats.
He was unlucky in that it was only ever going to be a foul if he caught someone and the chances of that happening were very very small.
It is really not our year!

Yep definitely a season for both Glasgow and Edinburgh fans to forget. Glasgow have some superb young backs coming through though. Just need to back that talent up with some big hitting forwards.

How many penalties did Leinster give away down the other end and they did not get a warning!
