Saturday During the Internationals
Just a quick check-in to see how we are all passing our Saturday. For me, I don't even have a real hole in the schedule to do any of the work in the garden my missus wants me to do (ha, ha, ha). And after the Aus-Eng match, I will need about one hour to not be pished off any more, then do my exercises, eat breakfast, sh, sh, shower, then settle in for a great afternoon, just my couch, my Boddington's, and the tv. Life is good.
2:00 Japan-France - is this late might or early morn? coffee or spirits?
3:05 New Zealand-Ireland - def early morn, will go to the 24hr bagel shop and pick some up. Irish Coffee definitely.
5:55 Australia-England - Expect to be grumbling by 06:00. Irish Coffee without the coffee. And maybe without the glass.
11:05 South Africa-Wales - Coming down from the Englanddefeat I think a Riesling and Glamorgan Sausages are in order.
15:10 Argentina-Scotland - The mellow part of the day with Chicharrón and Whisky
16:00 USA-France Barbarians - Nachos, beer, escargot.
All times are NY, by the way.

Re: Saturday During the Internationals
The Japan-France match kicks off local time at 3pm. It is being held in Nagoya, which is due to see temperatures of 34°C and hunidity close to 70%. Not sure if World Rugby has any official standards for unacceptably hot playing conditions but I wouldn't want to be out in that.
I'm in Tokyo, which is currently seeing the highest June temperatures ever recorded. We are due to reach 36°C on Saturday. It's barely feels safe enough to walk to the local shops, let alone chase around in searing heat, with a gumshield in.
Still, the heat gives a good excuse to stay inside, and watch the matches, which should follow this schedule for us in Japan:
10:00am Australia 'A'-Samoa
12:30pm Fiji-Tonga
3:00pm Japan-France
4:05 pm NZ-Ireland
6:55pm Australia-England
12:05am South Africa-Wales
4:10am Argentina-Scotland
Suspect the last two matches will be a bridge too far, especially if I break out some beer for the England game. I'm grateful the schedule gives me a window to wolf down some grub with the family between the New Zealand and Australia games.

Re: Saturday During the Internationals
For me the matches are a little more time friendly.
Japan vs France 8h00
NZ vs Ireland 9h05
Australia vs England 11h55
South Africa vs Wales 17h05
Argentina vs Scotland 21h10
Will just mellow out, eat biltong, drink Fanta and maybe have an early braai before the Boks kick off.

Re: Saturday During the Internationals
I would probably watch three of the games, but I’m willing to bet I have chores lined up etc. I also have to do a 10k, so that’s about another hour gone. I will definitely watch Wales get walloped and hope for the NZ game, as the boss is going out for breakfast. Other than that, I’ll probably be enjoying my chores

Re: Saturday During the Internationals
My daughter’s school has rather inconveniently not only scheduled its prizegiving for the exact timings of the England match but also let us know that she is getting a prize.
My wife and I have tacitly agreed that we may have earbuds in during the ceremony.

Doc, if I was your doctor, I would be suggesting you review your alcohol intake

Re: Saturday During the Internationals
I'm just a bone doc. Kind of being a carpenter with expensive tools. What do I know about booze and the liver? In fact, if I didn't have to repair them in the field or A&E, I wouldn't even know they exist. It's just a squishy thing which gets damaged too easily and smells bad. And is always, always in the freakin' way.WELL-PAST-IT wrote:You tell me? Your the doc, Doc.

Re: Saturday During the Internationals
Actually tomorrow will be a good day. Watch Aus-England, go to the gym, cut the lawn, and spend the rest of the day on the couch. A mate from the club and his family, he's from Uruguay but is a Pumas fan, will come over in the afternoon to watch Arg-Scotland. I supply the steaks, he brings the wine. Life is good.
