Re: Autumn Internationals Predictor
Sorry for the wait, it was my birthday yesterday so was out for a curry!
Week 3 bonus try scorer for the Baba’s vs ABXV game went well didn’t it? Bryce Heem was the first try Scorer so no luck there for anyone.
However it was another enthralling weekend of rugby. Probably the toughest round to predict so far with plenty of cards.
No7&1/2 came within only 5 Argentine points too many of a perfect score guessing a Welsh win and the Wales score line perfectly. Tough luck! Predictions were split 50/50 for that match which shows just how competitive it is among the top tier nations at the moment. Riscagame guessed a Scotland 24 – 32 NZ result which was only a single point too many for both teams of getting the first perfect score and 60 points! Really tough luck there. Hazel Sapling was not too far off either.
Only myself and Lowlandbrit predicted a Babas win but some of the score lines were quite close which increased the points tallies. Another tough one to call.
Italy?!! That stumped everyone. We all expected that the Wallabies would find a way to win, but Capuzzo reminded us all that he is one of Europes finest backline players. Considering teh work that went into getting their structure up to date and the magnificent U20's results of recent past, Italy are showing some really encouraging signs.
Most expected a French victory but the red cards could have impacted that result.
And most expected England to post a high (but not seriously high) score, and no one thought Japan or Fiji would win.
So to the leader boards!...
ahem, oh. So the organiser has suddenly made it the top of both boards it would seem. Awkward.
Despite a few high scores from others, I made up some ground by guessing a strong losing scoreline for Italy vs Aus and also correctly predicting the Babas match.
So it is all to play for in week 4 as it is pretty tight at the top with only 58 points separating 1st and 5th place.
Get your picks in before Friday and good luck!

Re: Autumn Internationals Predictor
Great review thank you. Bernard Jackman managed a young Capuzzo at Grenoble when he was the coach there, Capuzzo is himself actually from Grenoble despite the Italian name.
Jackman was convinced that he would not make as he was too small for international rugby. Just shows you. In fairness he is very small, according to wikipedia he is only 71kg.

Re: Autumn Internationals Predictor
Week 4 Results
How is it the last week already?
Hope you're all well! Week 4 was one for the outlandish predictor. In fact, had some who had fallen behind had a punt on some odd looking scores they might have done well.
Wales losing to Georgia, Scotland putting a record score over the Pumas thanks to multiple cards, the Wallabies losing yet another very close game, a bloody England vs AB's draw!? and a monster win for SA over Italy. Hard lines.
Calculating the scores it was clear we were all in a similar frame of mind. That is apart from Collapse2005 who went for a Wallabies win over Ireland. It was a decent punt that may have worked out considering the final scoreline. The only other against the grain prediction was mine for a pumas win over Scotland. That combined with a few other poor predictions put me bottom for the week on 62 while Profitus and RiscaGame made some consistent predictions to tie on 83.
Collpase2005 had the highest score of the round with 23 points for the France vs Japan fixture
Lowest score was 0 which went to me for Wales vs Georgia.
Considering there was only 21 points between first and last shows that we're all in the zone now.
Looking at the overall leaderboard, there is only 15 points separating 1st and 3rd and 92 points separating 1st and 7th place. A perfect scoreline followed up with another very good guess could snatch top spot if the leaders falter this weekend.
So will Wales lose again? Or will they be looking to bounce back strongly? Can SA beat England on their home turf? Or will England put in an 80 minute display to condemn the boks to yet another defeat against NH opposition?
This week is the finale! Cheers for sticking around to make your predictions each week and I look forward to crowning a winner this weekend

Not that improbable to be fair. SA are fairly beatable away and Australia are on their knees with injuries.

I wouldn't really doubt England can beat SA at home, it was more for the first result. Australia are definitely struggling, but it's still Pivac's Welsh team.

Finish off with 2 of the hardest games to call imo. Both Wales and Aus missing a host of players now, England on the verge of a promising back line finally but how will the scrum go? Home advantage.

Re: Autumn Internationals Predictor
Week 5 and the champion!
Plenty of drama once again! Wales squandered a huge lead and England flopped big time. Only Hazel Sapling and Collapse2005 picked a SA win and surprise surprise, they were first and second for the round. Unfortunately Collapse2005 had fallen back a few too many points to challenge for the top spot overall but HazelSapling? If you recall from last weekend Sapling was sitting only 15 points away from first place. Scoring a tidy 34 points HazelSapling was able to see off the rest of us and win the Autumn Nations Predictor!
Congratulations Hazel Sapling!
34 points took Sapling 5 points clear overall and rounded off a consistent Autumn of selections. Despite getting the Wales result wrong, Sapling picked Wales by 24 points which was spot on and earned him 10 points. By then getting incredibly close to the final result for England vs South Africa Sapling bagged another 24 points.
Well done to everyone else. Honourable mentions to No7&1/2 who was 11 points short and finished 3rd and Collapse2005 who was only 14 points short of top place and finished 4th. It was super tight and could have gone any way.

Re: Autumn Internationals Predictor
Hang on do I not get a bonus for all matches correct? 50 point bonus for all matches correct?? That would catapult me to victory. There definitely needs to be a stewards enquiry on those scores
Anyway thank you Bsando for organising. Good craic. Total pot luck for me anyway.
