West Wing
I've been looking for a series to watch and I know this has been very highly rated so thought Id give it a go. Only watched a few episodes of season 1 so far but seems good. Possibly getting a bit dated as over 20 years old but interesting characters and good snappy dialogue.
Any thoughts on this, worth watching?

Re: West Wing
It's a great show and definitely worth watching.
There's a few ups and downs in terms of the quality of some of the episodes, but there's much more good than bad in each season. Can be a little bit 'American' / schmaltzy at times, but the quality of the dialogue and acting is enough to offset it.

Re: West Wing
First series took a little while to really find its stride (the original plan was that John Spencer's character would be the 'father figure' but they soon realised that it had to be the President himself), but from half way through that to about the end of Series 4 it's one of the finest TV series the US has made. The quality of writing fell away a bit in the later series, and it became a bit more plot-driven rather than character and dialogue driven, but still remained good.
It's true that the series is about 20 years old, and certain of the issues that are raised are particularly pertinent to the US (gun control for one) or more of their time (Islamic terrorism), but a lot is still very relevant.
