Fresh bid for Neymar in the summer?

ESPNsoccernet understands Chelsea are likely to make a fresh bid for Brazil starlet Neymar in the summer.

Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich refused to sanction the £30 million it would have taken to have captured Neymar from Santos last summer but, having invested heavily in Fernando Torres and David Luiz in January, he has demonstrated a change of heart.

Chelsea's bid of £22 million was rejected by Santos six months ago, and Neymar subsequently agreed a new contract, but he continues to attract the attention of Europe's biggest clubs and Barcelona recently sent a scout to monitor the player.

An insider with detailed knowledge of the Neymar move told ESPNsoccernet: "Santos still don't want to sell, but that could all change in the summer.

"Yes, Barcelona have shown interest, but so have all the top clubs across Europe. Certainly Roman Abramovich has changed his mind about spending big, and the indications are that Chelsea will return for Neymar."
