Australia vs Wales 6th July
Australia 13-10 Wales at 27 minutes
Things were looking a bit shaky for Wales after conceding a series of penalties, then getting a yellow card when Australia scored a try.
Now, 14-man Wales just wone a penalty try, so the score has closed up, and numbers are even again.

I’m surprised we are within three, tbh.
Getting overpowered, the penalty try aside.

Wales with a 5m scrum on the Australian line, right at the start of the second half. Tupo is off for the Wallabies.

Re: Australia vs Wales 6th July
Good idea but poor execution.
Wainwright broke blind from the base of the scrum but didn't draw really draw the defence, and his pass meant his own player was easily bundled into touch.

Wales win a penalty from the next phase of play. At one point, a grubber kick looked like it might fall for Wales but it went dead after pin-balling around.

Re: Australia vs Wales 6th July
On penalty advantage, Australia switch direction, and momentum carries the attacker over the line for a try. Not converted.

Re: Australia vs Wales 6th July
Wainwright almost got his hands free to put a player through but the Wallabies ended up with the ball. Wales get it back, and win a penalty, which they kick for touch.
And it's a try!

Re: Australia vs Wales 6th July
James Botham had just come on, and he ended up with the ball. The TMO isn't sure...

Chalked off.
There was obstruction in the maul.
It's still Australia 18-13 Wales

Correct decision for me, although I’m sure cement head won’t agree.

Re: Australia vs Wales 6th July
Dumb penalty from Christ Tshiunza gives the Wallabies an attacking lineout.

Re: Australia vs Wales 6th July
Wallabies went for a crossfield kick, and the superman finish but it didn't come off. That's a let-off for Wales

And from nothing, Bevan chips for a 50-22 to give Wales a lineout.

Wallabies defended well, and Wales gave away a knock-on with 16 minutes to go.

Re: Australia vs Wales 6th July
Wales have started to get a bit more territory, and win another penalty. Instead of trying another lineout maul, they decide to go for the posts.
The kick is good.

One of those annoying occasions when there's a knock-on advantage, and the referee calls advantage over because the team kicks, but it goes straight out.

Re: Australia vs Wales 6th July
And, suddenly, Tom Wright breaks the game open.
He took the ball in the back field, fooled everyone in the defensive line, and ran straight through to score.
Try converted

Re: Australia vs Wales 6th July
With nine minutes to go, and scores hard to come by, a Wallabies side with nous should be able to close this game out.

Was surely the unnecessarily difficult option when they could have gone through the hands and scored.
