Fiji Boss quits ahead of RWC
Fiji Rugby Union Chief Executive Keni Dakuidreketi has resigned as without offering any explanation for his decisionafter 10 years in administrative roles.
In a posting on its website Wednesday, the FRU said Dakuidreketi tendered his resignation and it was accepted by the union's new chairman, Colonel Mosese Tikoitoga.
Tikoitoga thanked Dakuidreketi for his "immense contribution to the development of the game and the FRU as a professional organization."
Dakuidreketi said he was privileged and honored to have served an organization which "affects the very heart of the nation and where each and every individual regardless of creed or color has an opinion."
Dakuidreketi's resignation follows an extraordinary week in which Scotland Rugby Boss Gordon McKie and English Rugby Boss John Steele stood down.

Re: Fiji Boss quits ahead of RWC
Is there something going on at an IRB level to say 3 RU bosses go in such a short space of time?
My mind starts wondering about potential commonalities with the FIFA-gate recently. Did England win their proposal for a RWC above board? Did Japan get/give any kick backs to voting nations? Who did SRU vote for and was this by the individual or an SRU committee decision? Indeed who did Fiji vote for if they were part of the decision makers? (I don't know a whole lot of detail on the process).
Quite often, rugby tends to be able to wield the axe behind close doors.....

Re: Fiji Boss quits ahead of RWC
Fiji rugby has plenty of its own internal problems. The military junta sacked most of the FRU board last year and replaced them with govt appointees after the board made a hash of running a fundraising lottery to get their team to the RWC. Those appointees are barred from entering NZ or Australia beacuse of sanctions against the Fiji military - as some of Fiji's RWC squad may be.
