Devin Haney

Wow has this guys stock plummeted fast.

We all know that the last contest doesn't officially count but his behaviour since then has turned Haney in to an absolute joke.

He is literally the punchline to every joke out there about boxing.

He's taking a bigger pummelling than Elle Brooke non boxing career.

Do you think that if it had been another boxer in his position (say Berbetov gets tested positive and Bivol goes full Haney), would people have sympathy?

Does anyone still rate or like Haney?

Jun 24, 2024 reported that Devin Haney has been made ‘Champion In Recess,’ by the WBC following a request that he doesn't want to defend his title due to being “physically, mentally and emotionally” unfit to make a title defense at the present time.

Aug 16: Reported that Alberto Puello and Sandor Martin Reach Agreement For WBC Mandatory Title Fight.

As yet no official date for the Puello - Martin fight has been announced although rumour has it that it will be scheduled on the Tank-Roach undercard Dec 14 (Houston Texas).

With all these fighters they are only as good as their last fight, but activity also plays a part in their visibility. Since 2020 most of these fighters have only fought once or twice a year.

With regard my view on Devin Haney - I don't really have one, except his record speaks for itself.

His previous fight against Ryan Garcia was a loss, now declared a non-contest. following multiple knockdowns that went a full twelve rounds, against an opponent that came in overweight with drugs in his system.

It was said that Haney looked a bit weight drained for the fight. It was also said that Ryan Garcia had learnt from his previous defeat to Gervonta Davis - which some have explained as being due to Garcia being weight drained plus a good performance by Davis.
