Favourite Moment in Wrestling
Seeing as there is such a massive range of posters on here these days, I thought I'd start up a thread and ask for everyones favourite moments in their time watching wrestling. Just to see the range of moments we get.
I want to think of those moments that had you sitting on the edge of your seat, shouting at the TV or those moments that you could watch over and over and never get bored of.

Re: Favourite Moment in Wrestling
One of mine would have to be when DX formed (X pac, Gunn and Dogg).
The original survivor series, teams vs teams, especially in the late 80's/early 90's.
For comedy valve when The Rock and Austin were on taking the pi55 out of each other and other wrestlers etc.

Re: Favourite Moment in Wrestling
My favourite moment -
Wrestlemania 8, Hogan getting beaten down by Sid and Shango, then the Warrior's music hits, then he literally sprints to the ring and clears house.
I.
MARKED.
OUT.
Must have watched that clip about 100 times.

My favourite moment would be Summerslam 2003 in the Elimination Chamber. When Ric Flair kept Triple H safe in the pod, but Goldbeg just busted right on through. I was like

My favourite is still when Mankind won his first world title. When he is paraded around on DX's shoulders. I have watched that so many times

Off the top of my head.. Triple H returning at Maddison Sqaure Gardens in 2002, can watch that over and over and still get goosebumps. That and shane mcmahon jumping off the titantron, I can pretty much recite JR's commentary of that word for word.

I agree the hell in a cell match was awesome.
Jim Ross' immortal good god almighty speech captured that match perfectly.
Foleys first title win aswell, I admit I did switch over from wcw that night, that whole night memorable.
On a personal note my favourite memory was being 9 and going to nitro with my late uncle while on holiday in America. He was a huge wcw fan and converted me to wrestling when I was little.

Sting appearing in the rafters in WCW
The brood being inducted into the Ministry - not really my favourite but it freaked me out and has always been memorable!
Y2J's millenium countdown debut - greatest debut of all time imo.
HHH v Cactus Jack HIAC - awesome match by both guys
HHH entrance at WM25 where he smashes through the glass with his sledgehammer
HBK slapping Taker and being super tombstoned at WM26 - was the greatest tombstone I've ever seen delivered and a superb finish to the match.
Christian winning his first WHC was quite special this year.
Tyler Black v Davey Richards at DBD VIII - an incredible wrestling match that epitomised everything I like about wrestling - the drama and the athleticism!

Re: Favourite Moment in Wrestling
So many to choose from!!
Rikkishi flying off the cell at Armageddon 2000 and the looks on Austin, HHH and The Rock's face as he's lying there are priceless.
Being at RAW the MEN in Manchester when DX were on their second run and hearing them do the bit on the mic (also my mate getting lost in between the filming of ECW and Raw made this one of the best nights out ever!)
The Rock return during the invasion angle and joining the WWF. Also Rock and Austin singing together during the Invasion angle.
Brock and Big Show Superplex, was watching it in bed on a saturday morning very hung over when all of a sudden the ring collapsed, couldn't believe it!
Might be slightly controversial but most recently The Miz winning the title!! These days i tend to read the results on my lunch in work then watch Raw when i get home / in the week. For some reason or other (i like to think it fate) i was up way early for work and so went downstairs and watched Raw unspoiled, was bouncing around when Miz won it, absolutely bouncing all day!!!

Re: Favourite Moment in Wrestling
Enjoying the wide range of moments that have been posted so far guys;
My favourite moments:
Benoit winning the Heavyweight title at Wrestlemania XX. For all the guy has done wrong, I will always be a massive fan of his and getting to watch him win the big one and the emotion that he showed was just fantastic.
Edge spearing Jeff Hardy from about 20ft in the air. It was my first Wrestlemania and I couldn't believe that it had actually happened. One of the best spots in wrestling history.
CM Punk turning heel straight after winning his first ROH World Title at Death By Dishonor III. Absolute genius!

Yeah I watched that too mate, it definitely gives you a hell of a better insight into the reasons of what happened. It makes me scratch my head to why McMahon has then gone about pretty much erasing him from WWE's archives. The reason he did what he did is probably partially your fault Vinny Mac!!

Re: Favourite Moment in Wrestling
Think WWE and the other companys Benoit wrestled for should take some responsibility for the concussions he suffered , no-one will ever know if that caused him to do what he did but it cant of helped his state of mind . I just hope lessons have been learnt and that concussions are being dealt with better .
Benoits wrestling career deserves to be in the history books .

Benoits career shouldn't be remembered, he lost that right when he brutally murdered a child with HIS WRESTLING FINISHER and also killed his wife, I fully believe he was just beating Nancy as usual but this time accidently killed her then decided to kill the boy then the coward did what cowards do

Re: Favourite Moment in Wrestling
Some pretty harsh words there Gaffer. I agree that what the guy did was horrific but for a man to do that to a kid that many have said 'was the only thing that made him smile' there has to be something seriously going on.
The man was battling serious depression and the research that was done afterwards showed that he serious brain damage to point that the guy had almost no control over what he was doing. His autopsy is a major factor into the WWE taking in it's Wellness Program but he was clearly very messed up.

Steve I don't believe for one minute Benoit had very little control over what he did, the death of his wife and child where 24 hours apart, he managed to contact people to let them know he wont make the shows then he navigated his weight machine enough to kill himself, that doesn't sound like the actions of a man who had little control

Re: Favourite Moment in Wrestling
Eddie Guerrero beating Brock Lesnar to become WWE Champion. Its the only time I have cheered the result as excitedly as I would cheer Leicester City scoring a goal.
I was watching it live with my mate, and we both knew there was no chance of Guerrero winning. They had Lesnar defending it againt shall we say mid-card wrestlers at the time (Hardcore Holly at the Royal Rumble I remember) and they never won. We loved Guerrero but we was just expecting him to give Lesnar a good match and lose with some pride. Then all the close finishes came and everytime you would think "surely he isnt going to win it!", then everytime Lesnar kicked out it was like "no of course not Guerrero will never be champ ". So when he hit the frog splash and the referee started counting, we were on the edge of our seat more in hope than expectation. When he finally got that 3 count we both jumped up cheering as if we were little kids again thinking it was all real.
I will never forget that. R.I.P Eddie...

Stone Cold getting run down at survivor serise (i was young and shocked the hell out of me !)
Kane unmasking was a good one and when Shane kicked him into the fire
That was such a good storyline when Kane used to be uncontrolable and setting people on fire !

HBK beating Bret @ Wrestlemania XII.
Also when I was on Raw back in 2004. I was interviewed before the show and they split my interview into two parts and showed it on the titontron and all round the world during the show. I marked out like hell seeing myself on the titontron lol. Saying that, if anyone has a copy of Monday Night Raw from October 2004 (it was the Manchester show), I would be very interested in a copy of it.

When Savage asked Mr Perfect to be his partner to face Ric Flair and Razor Ramon. Everyone was thinking that Perfect would turn on Savage but he didn't, leading to a loser leaves the WWF match between Flair and Perfect.
Re: Favourite Moment in Wrestling
When Bret Hart returned on RAW last year. Something I wasn't sure I would ever see or even want to see, but when it happened it was a definite mark-out moment. Probably one of the last I'll ever get from wrestling.

Randy Orton's 'concussion' REAL!!!
It's a pity he came back? Are you for real Al? He returned to the ring and had epic feuds with Jake and Flair and had a brilliant World Title match with Warrior at SummerSlam then had the whole Mr Perfect face turn, some would say he had his best year in Wrestling after he returnedAlynDavies wrote:Elizabeth coming into the ring at Wresltmania 7 and throwing sherry out of the ring to save macho man. Sorry but in my eyes when you lay it all on the line and have a retirement match, and you lose it so are supposed to retire. Then come back shortly after, you lose all credibility, I could never take him seriously after that
I lost all respect for him.

I find that unbelievable, also I'm amazed that in a 'sport' that so little of what you see and hear is actually real that anyone takes any retirement match/angle so seriously
