The Junior WC are using the bonus points system in the group stages.

Does anyone know if this system will be used come September. From my memory can't remember it being used previously.

I think it is? But it doesnt make much of a difference in such small groups - If a team loses twice they wont go through no matter how many BPs they got. (short of upsets)

They did in 2007, I think they did in 2003 and I think they will in 2011.

Bonus points will come into it if 3 teams in a group lose 1 (could well happen in the England/Argentina/Scotland pool and less-likely the Australia/Ireland/Italy pool), or if 2 or 3 teams in a pool lose 2 and one team goes unbeaten (could possibly happen in Pool D is South Africa win all their matches, and then Wales, Fiji and Samoa all take 1 win and 1 loss from each other).

Usually however, you do end up with one team on 4 wins, one team on 3 wins, one team on 2 wins, one team on 1 win and one team with no wins and bonus points don't come into it.
