Who do you support at international Level?
Just a short article in the lead up to the world cup, also trying to gauge how many differant Rugby playing nations are represented here.
I hope I have covered all the bases, and you can only vote once, but feel free to post other nations you have a soft spot for.
Scotland are my Main team, but I also have a soft spot for Wales, and I love watching New Zealand play.....well who wouldn't?
Also I am a massive fan of the B&I Lions.

My team is Ireland but I like the Scots and the Wallabies too. Also like seeing the Pumas and Azzuri doing well.
I like two teams in out group!

Re: Who do you support at international Level?
England supporter but I'm also a fan of the French and the Aussies. They're the two sides I enjoy watching England play against most and would 'support' them over other sides.
Other than that I'd probably go for the underdog.

Re: Who do you support at international Level?
England.
Spain are my second team in most things and rugby is no different, really enjoyed watching them in the 7s. I'll probably pick a second team (a minnow) for the World Cup, I usually do in football and rugby competitions. It would be Spain if they had qualified. Last time out it was Georgia, but they're in England's group so I probably won't pick them. In the football last year I went for Uruguay, but switched to Ghana after Suarez's handball, and in 2006 it was Ukraine. Not sure who I'll pick for this World Cup, but I'm thinking about Japan or Russia.

I'm Welsh so I support Wales, but I support France too, in the hope that they'll play that magic rugby they're capable of producing. I love the French.

If Ireland don't win I like to see New Zealand succeed. They play consistent and top quality rugby and their players and coaches improve the standard of play in France, Ireland and UK.
Re: Who do you support at international Level?
England, followed by any of the home nations (Ireland included) after that it's generally the underdog.

I support Ireland. Don't really support anyone else but I suppose I always like to see the Scots do well. NZ are my favourite SH team but I suppose I'm warming to the boks a bit because of the south african influence at Ulster.

It would probably would for Italy. I think I would still have a soft spot for Scotland. I don't really know why but I have always liked them. I think a lot of Irish people have a soft spot for the Scots.
And of course I admire the rugby played by Samoa and Fiji.

Re: Who do you support at international Level?
Wales as my first choice as I'm Welsh.
My partner is half Pakistani so I like them to do well also.
Ive always been partial to Japan as they try their hardest and play fantastic rugby.
I have Italian relatives so always want them to do well, and I like the Scottish too I hate the state their rugby is in, even if playing them is almost a 90% chance of a win these days.
I'm not particularly fond of Canada, Argentina, Ireland, and England.
1 Wales
2 Japan
3 Pakistan
4 Scotland
5 Italy

Wales for me. Love the Scotland and France too, and due to family reasons Ireland are up there, but they aren't my favourite.

I support England, second choice would be Ireland due to the missus being from there. Soft spot also for NZ for constantly raising the bar and showing what is possible on a rugby pitch.

Re: Who do you support at international Level?
Well apart from my beloved ABs, I love watching France play except against my beloved ABs in a World Cup match. When they´re on song, they play breathtakingly fluid rugby.
I respect SA and Australia but would never support them. I even supported England in 2003.
Scotland because my father is Scottish and got a cap for the national team off the bench are a sentimental soft spot. My highlight following them was the last 5 Nations in Paris, surrounded by kilted Scots and then my last memory was a kilted Scot in the Champs d´Elysée driving a road cleaner with a Morroccan street cleaner running after him.
The Pacific Island teams because they´re our neighbours and don´t have Aussie accents and for sheer pocket dynamo fun I love watching Japan play in World Cups. It´s like watching a car in an uncontrolled slide on black ice. You know what´s going to happen but just for a brief moment you think somehow they´ll pull it off.

It's nice to be so well loved!
For me, apart from the obvious Scotland, it's probably Ireland and the Aussies. I used to support Wales, but after you broke my heart last year (I was actually ill for a week as a result...), I haven't quite got over it! Just give me time... and a win.
Oh, and just for the sake, anyone not wearing white...

England first.
In terms of preference for lifting the WC; England 1st, New Zealand 2nd, France/Ireland 3rd, Wales 4th (I just think Ireland and France 'deserve' it more due to form) .
I'll be 'following' Samoa and Russia in the World Cup.

Ha, ha, good one Thomond. Well, let me fall into the trap with a series of return questions:
When is the last time Ireland beat South Africa at home?
When is the last time Ireland beat Australia at home?
When is the last time Ireland beat Argentina in an away series?
Now, that should leave the field wide open for your own set of questions?!?!

Re: Who do you support at international Level?
Well of course I support South Africa, then there after I support Southern Hemisphere rugby.
We may by far have smaler populations and far less money than our bretheren above the equator, but I love the fact that the SH dominate world rugby, and hope it remains that way for many more years.
1. SA
2. NZ
3. OZ
4. Samoa
5. Fiji
6. TOnga
7 Argentina

I am not talking about per country, I am talking collectively.
SA 49 million GDP 500 billion
NZ 4.5 million GDP 114 billion
Australia 22 million GDP 1.235 trillion
Fiji 850 thousand GDP 4 billion
Samoa 180 thousand GDP 1 billion
Tonga 100 thousand GDP 800 million
Argentina 40 million GDP 642 billion.
A collective population of approximately 118 miilion with a GDP of 1.8 trillion.
vs the European rugby playing nations ( only the western european nations.
France 65 million GDP 2.1 trillion
England 59 million GDP 1.9 trillion
Ireland 6 million GDP (can't find it on wiki)
Italy 60 million GDP 1.7 trillion.
Scotland 5 million 124 GDP 124 billion
Wales 3 million GDP 85 billion
Thus a collective of approximately 200 million and a GDP of close to 6 trillion.

Ireland GDP - 172.3 billion (although that is just the Republic of Ireland, not All-Ireland, as they play in rugby).

I'm irish and since coming to 606 i've done a complete 180 on welsh, they have to have the worst supporters ever. i also like the scots and the saffa's, big fan of the stormers. i actually kinda like the English too, i was a big fan of the 2003 team. Read will greenwoods and Dallaglio's books.
[Edit, what I think kiwicraving meant to say was ... some of the Welsh posters (but not any of those who have come over to V2) on old 606 were some of the worst supporters ever. ... ]

I'm french but could have voted for portugal since I was born there. Also like Ireland (for the game they play) and have some affinity for Scotland . Respect England and Wales. From the SH, quite like to see teams like Fidji performing better (or more consitently) and for some reason have a soft spot for Australia (not too sure why though!).
