Millrose Games
This indoor meet is building its marketing campaign around a number of clashes, and one of them is the Jamaica-US sprint clash in the 60 metres....
Unfortunately, some of the athletes taking part in these races are not the premier ones, but it should be entertaining, nonetheless.
Men's 60
Nesta Carter (Jca)
Lerone Clarke (Jca)
Oshane Bailey (Jca)
Mike Rodgers (US)
Trell Kimmons (US)
Ivory Williams (US)
Women's 60
Veronica Campbell-Brown (Jca)
Vonette Dixon (Jca)
Trisha-Ann Hawthorne (Jca)
Lauryn Williams (US)
I don't know who the other two women sprinters are going to be....

Re: Millrose Games
Some quick first results form the Milrose Games at the famous Madison Square Garden in New York:
Nesta Carter has stormed to a superb season opener and world-leading time of 6.52 secs in the men's 60m, convincingly beating the American duo of Mike Rodgers (6.56) and Trell Kimmons (6.57), while double Olympic champion Veronica Campbell-Brown made it a dash double for the Jamaicans in also a global top of 7.11 secs. Lauryn Williams came home second in the latter in 7.22 secs.
All three top markers in the men's race filled the respective global top three spots.
In the women's pole vault, Fabiana Murer soared over a decisive height and world-topping 4.74m at the second attempt to turn round Jenn Suhr's edge deep into the competition, the American having led with a first time vault over 4.64m.
Ryan Whitting snatch a dramatic late victory to upset Christian Cantwell in the men's shot, hurling a last-ditch winner of 21.31m to overhaul the world champion's 21.14m in the previous round.
Finally, Bernard Lagat's sensational long winning streak in the men's Wamamaker mile came to an end as he was held off by Deresse Mekonnen, crossing the line in 3:59.01 behind the Ethiopian's 3:58.58. Britain's Lee Emanuel finished fourth in 4:04.91.
