King of Sands Comp - July

As June’s competition draws to a close, start looking forward to July’s competition.

This is a competition for the All Weather meetings in the UK.

All those that took place in June I will take it that you are entering June’s competition and you do not need to post on here that you wish to enter, and I thank you again all the regular entrants who have taken the time to put their entries in for each meeting. But if you did not take part in June, maybe you are a new member to the forum or maybe you have just heard people discussing the KOTS comp on the Daily Thread, then you are welcome to take part, let me know on here if you want to be included.

A reminder of the rules and scoring are below

Intend to start July’s competition on Tuesday (5/7) with 2 meetings at Southwell & Wolverhampton, thread for selections as always will be up on the afternoon the day before the meeting.


Rules
1. Pick one horse in every race at the specified meeting.
2. Pick one horse for your NAP.
3. All selections must be in 30 minutes before the start of the first race (at my discretion if I am available on the day might be flexible with this, but under no circumstances will selections be accepted for races that have run)
4. Any changes to selections i.e. non runners or non runner strategy must be notified 30 minutes before the start of the 1st race.
5. Points scored as follows
1st = 20 Pts
2nd = 10 Pts
3rd = 5 Pts
Winning NAP scores double points i.e. 40 pts, not rewarding NAP coming 2nd or 3rd !!!
6. Any winner with an SP of 10/1 or greater (as per SP on Sporting Life website will score a bonus 10 pts, 20-1 or greater 15 points , and 33/1 or greater 20 points.(Max score is therefore 60 pts on a winning NAP at an SP of 33/1 or greater.
7. There will be daily tables & a monthly table and some monthly stats.
8. If you fail to give a NAP I will take the 1st race as your NAP selection
9. All Non Runners will be replaced with favourite unless otherwise specified, as per below in case of joint favourites, one with lowest race card number will be selected again unless specified.
10. If you ask for Non runners to be replaced by Favourite or 2nd favourite and there are joint favourites or joint second favourites, I will pick the horse with the lowest number (i.e. 1 then 2 etc). Once you give me a NR policy I will use this all forthcoming meeting unless otherwise specified by yourself.
11, Where there are 2 meetings in one day, I need a NAP for each meeting.
12. Withdrawals will be classed as a non runner.
13. In the event of a dead heat both horses will receive the points (20 for 1st , 10 for 2nd etc)
14. All entrants will have 2 lifelines during a month , then if for no reason you cannot post selections , e.g. holiday, loss of internet connection, work etc , then you will be awarded an average score of the missed meeting , rounded down to the nearest 5 as the scoring is in multiples of 5, so if the average is 68 then you will be awarded 65. If there are 2 meetings in one day, this will class this as one lifeline from now on, if you miss one meeting when there are 2 meetings in a day, this will still class as one lifeline.
This can only happen for a maximum of 2 times per entrant per month.
15. In the case of an abandonment, scores will only count if more than 50% of the races have been completed, so in a 6 race card , 4 races must have been completed. And if not all peoples NAP's had run , then there will be no double scores for NAP's.

5th Southwell & Wolverhampton
6th Kempton
11th Wolverhampton
12th Southwell
19th Southwell
20th Lingfield

NB : adverse weather conditions may result in the addition or removal of fixtures, always check the thread for selections daily
