OK, it's not out for another month, but there's some teasers here.

They're trying to build it up as new and improved, but ultimately we all know the RWC jersey will be (as I've said before) black, with a silver fern on the left breast, an RWC logo on the right, a small Adidas triangle in the middle just below the neck, and on the right sleeve a stylised William Web Ellis trophy with 1987 underneath.

Officially, until the end of July we get to see this:

And jerseys are now out. I didn't pick the white collar or the retro numbers

All this secrecy I mean for goodness sake. ALL BLACKS gives it away I think...it will be all black with a fern, WC badge and a 18" Addidas emblem in the middle. Too much secrecy about it.

Hmmm, I can see the RWC quarter final result now: "Scotland 21 (7 Paterson penalties) - All Blacks-with-mincey-white-collar 20"! Braveheart

"Technically" it's traditional, the shirt collar was white from ~1905 through to Adidas replacing CCC (and a year or 2 after even). But personally if you're going to go back to a white collar, better to restore the proper CCC style one rather than painting a white strip across the back of the neck.

Why have they blatantly copied England's black shirt? They also stole the colour white for the collar. Oh dear, oh dear.

I like the return of the white colar. Aside from evoking the ghost of '87, it also makes DC look like a priest come to read the last rights to the opposition.

Now, If we could get McCaw, Read and Kaino into undertakers top-hats and a small cape...

Conversely the England "all black" kit in no way resembles NZ's iconic kit. For starters it's not black, it's charcoal and the pin stripe is more reminiscent of a dead man's suit.

England will outsell the NZ kit by a royal mile.

Even the kiwi rebel against the price of Addidas' little black number, Rebel Sports going to send their lot back to them, Addidas banning Kiwis from getting the shirt from overseas. Who said Addidas did not run NZ rugby, God bless the Germans. 🤦

It's Adidas Welshjohn, not Addidas.

Most Kiwis I've spoken to are just going to buy the almost identical England away shirt from Nike instead.

"Buying the shirt" has never been a particularly New Zealandery thing in my experience. The whole walking around with your bulging belly protruding from a frankly ridiculous looking replica shirt whilst your scrawny chest yawns into the vacant cavity under the arms is more of a British fashion.

Where did you get the information that Adidas were "banning" anyone from importing anything. I'm not sure that this is something that was in their power to do.

Please refer to TV ONE NZ news yesterday if you have the ability to do so (some companies restrict world viewing), some stores outside NZ have been prevented by A'd'idas from sending the NZ shirt to NZ. Rebel sport have also been told that A'd'idas will not reduce their price thus forcing Rebel sport to reduce their price by $30 - $60 a shirt. Many other stores have turned against Adidas and lowered the price too which is Admirable.

It's odd when I was at Eden Park on Saturday I saw many many bulging bellies hanging out of NZ shirts and it certainly seems like a very popular thing to wear at S15 and ITM games, perhaps you have been away too long ot have not been observing the crowds well enough to see this.

Personally I have just bought some black Tee shirts, some velcro and some cut out ferns and roses, some Nike and Adidas logo's and I am making a mint from the decerning pom and kiwi in Northland and soooooo much cheaper.

Perhaps NZRU needs to take a longer look at the monster controling them.

NZ News just reported that many NZ'ers are now going to bycott Adidas goods.

Why not get the NZRU to have Canterbury shirts? or is the might of the Adidas sponsorship more than just shirts?

I am also a middle aged man that sometimes wonders why others feel the compulsion to have to dress up like their rugby idols..

More to do with their country rather than idols. It's called passion. best talk to the 1000's of NZ'ers buying the AB shirt, or am I seeing things at Eden Park and the TV!??
