First topic message reminder :

Wales coach Warren Gatland has revealed Leigh Halfpenny is a major doubt for this autumn's World Cup in New Zealand.

Cardiff Blues wing Halfpenny, 22, is recovering from an operation on the persistent foot injury which disrupted his season with club and country.

"Leigh Halfpenny, despite being in a boot, is making good progress," said Gatland.

"He's still going to be touch and go whether he gets selected for the World Cup squad."

Halfpenny has been included in Wales' provisional 45-man squad, which will be reduced to 30 for the World Cup.

I for one hope he does make a full recovery a very useful player to have in our squad.

FES - He has not made coaches scape goats no. But he has come out and put the blame squarely on indivivuals shoulders on many occations. I said that Howley will be scape goated on the grounds he will be leaving to go to Bath, so a comment along the lines of 'We are bringing in <insert name> as backs coach to sharpen up back play" or something like that is to be expected.

I have no problems with Gatland selecting the best players possible, and if the best players are all Ospreys/Blues (as they have been for a while) I have no problems with that. If you see my posts i have had a grumble about him selecting Ken Owens at hooker as he is not 'in form' seeing as he has only played 15 mins this year and that was ont he flank. My issue with Gatland is purely down to this 'honesty' nonsence.

Sorry off topic.

On topic, Stoddart is now apparently fit enough to go to the training camp.
