Tsonga = This years Berdych?
Upsets Fed in the quarter finals, before beating an out of sorts Nole in the semis.
Then loses to Rafa in the final?

He might lose to Rafa in the final but he is a much better player than Berdych.
Berdych was lucky last year and I knew he woudl not stay in the top 10 for long.
Tsonga has always been a danger when fit. It's his fitness that is questionable...and his standing a bit too far back unfortunately.

Re: Tsonga = This years Berdych?
Three years ago Tsonga played some of the most amazing attacking tennis I've seen to demolish Rafa in the AO semi. Since then he, like so many big players (think Philippoussis, Krycheck (spelling) Safin, del Potty) has had to contend with injuries.
On his day, JWT is incredible. Do I think he'll beat Djoko? No, cos I don't think he'll be able to repeat his Federer effort and if he hits the heights I don't think he'll be able to sustain them long enough.

It's amazing how many people seem to think they can predict the future!
Tsonga is a player that very much runs hot & cold and today may well be a cold turn, check out his trophy cabinet, thats why there is still lots of empty space

How exactly did Berdych get lucky last year? He was in great form, made the FO semi finals and Wimbledon final, giving Federer a breadstick and beating Djokovic to make the finals. How many players beat the World No.2 and 3 in back to back matches at Wimbledon?

True but victory today would not fill that space. With the way Djoko has played hot and cold the last couple of matches, he might spark then passion in Tsonga at one point and that would be a danger

There's no choice or Nole today, HE MUST WIN. Simples.

As you know I watched Nole on Wednesday live and to me he did not look 100%.....which is worrying!

NOle's simply gotta get on top of himself today and I have a feeling he will, he's had plenty of practice

Plus, Tomic is almost a complete opposite to Tsonga ...

Let's see. I am rooting for Tsonga of course for teh same reasons you are supporting Nole...but I won;t mind Nole winning....if he is 100%. I don;t want him limping in the final!

You must've enjoyed the first set against Tomic, I thought his baseline variety was beautiful (Novak's, of course)

This match will be fascinating. Tsonga must know that he's capable of beating anyone. I wonder how fully he believes it. Will the realization of where he's at in the tournament be a burden to him and strangle his talent?

I would put money on it that Tsonga will not come near his performance against Federer.

S L, if Tsonga doesn't come anywhere near, that's worse than Berdych last year. As for the original post, I don't think Tsonga is this year's Berdych:
a) I don't think he get as far, it will end today.
However, we don't need to discuss this tbh, in half an hour they will play and we will see who wins. I think Djokovic in 3 or 4 sets.
