Harry Findley To Sell His Horses & Quit Racing ...
Love him or Hate him, Harry Findley, the larger than life racehorse owner and professional gambler is quiting racing for good. The once part owner of Denman with Paul Barber is certainly a colourful character who divides opinion. Some see him as a big mouth, arrogant so and so, other think he's the sort of person who makes the racing game more interesting with his tales of winning, losing and then winning back fortunes.
Having had more than one run in with the sports authorities over the last few months, culminating in a six month warning off period being reduced to a £4500 fine on appeal for laying one of his own horses on Betfair, alledgedly by mistake, he's now fallen out of love and is selling all his horses.
Be interested in peoples opinion on the man .... For what it's worth, i think he is a character, yes a bit of a big mouth but i guess the sport would be a boring place if we didn't have the odd loveable rogue associated with it.

Thanks for posting this Grahame.............it's surprising news.
I don't know enough about him to form a proper opinion but I could never take to him.
I'm all for a lovable rogue but I never saw anything lovable in him.........he won't be missed by me.
It seems that Big Fella Thanks, in the National, could be his very last runner.
What a way for him to bow out of racing, with a National winner, I think BFT has a very good chance of winning
I was completely unaware he no longer part owned Denman........I really should try and keep up lol

He always reminded me of a real cockney barrow boy,the sort who sells friut and veg or tracksuit bottoms at the local market! He wasnt my cup of tea and when he does go i wont miss him,too brass, too bolshy, too bold for a big time owner in my opinion.Bet hes made a fortune laying Ferdys runners this season.Coincidence that the Murphy yard has had its worst season on record, the very same year that Findlay puts horses there?
