When do you think he will announce his retirement from golf?

SR
I genuinly wasnt looking for a bite......
I had a conversation with a pal of mine, and we agreed that we didnt think he would win another tournement, never mind a major.
His body is wrecked and his mind isn't far behind, and I honestly think he may be thinking of retiring!

And when he does quit, will he go down the Charlie Sheen route, drink/drugs/hookers.
Tigers daliance with ladies of the night and porn stars, does this not make him more interesting?

I think he is already going down that route - hell, he was bad enough when he was married and fit for golf - imagine the action he must be getting now?

Re: Tiger to miss The Open
It shows he's not quite as boring as his golf persona would paint him, but I disliked him long before his dalliances were revealed anyway.
I'm not the only one who thinks golf has been much more interesting since he's been away.
I'm sure he'll win more tournaments, but I doubt he'll be the once peerless golfer he was a few years back, so the bum licking sycophants will have to find someone else to focus on, or go back to football.

I STILL believe that he is driven by Jack's major record and still thinks he can surpass it. Give it another couple of years, if he hasn't added to his tally by then I think he might pack it all in.

He's driven so much by that record that he tries too hard and looks like he is losing the mental edge he needs.

SR.
[DFS has more or less put down what I was thinking]
I am not so sure, could be clever PR.
I think that he wants to overtake Nicklaus's record and be remembered as the worlds best ever golfer.
Most of the greats went through bad patches.
I was reading up on Snead the other day and the guy went through a spell when he was taking 140+ putts a tournament.

Good all eyes will definitely be on Rory now then.
Even though he probably won't win it, Mr Jason Day is a fantastic golfer would love him to win it McIlroy and Day two best youngsters in golf at this moment in time.

I don't think Woods is planning on retirement just yet. He will be too proud to admit he can't do it at the top level anymore and who knows...he may be right.
Golf is more interesting with focus on more than one player though and the inevitable circus!

That will be almost as sickening as if Tiger were there. We don't need to replace one demi-God with another. I'm starting to get a bit sick of hearing about Rory already

Predictable hey....Will he really re-appear this season I am having doubts......And the Rory media will go into over-drive which is annoying me already before the tournament has started!!!

Re: Tiger to miss The Open
I actually believe him that's he's taking the time to rehabilitate his injury properly. I just don't see why he would lie about it (yes, i know him and the truth haven't exactly been bosom buddies the past couple of years but he has no reason to mislead over his recovery).
Whilst he might have physical problems, (this is a man who won a U.S. Open with a broken leg and gammy knee) what will define the remainder of his career is how he harnesses that space between his ears. Hogan also dominated for a while with FAR greater physical problems than Woods has. We will find out in the next couple of years how mentally strong Woods is.

Really? "Honestly"?JDandfries wrote:I honestly think he may be thinking of retiring!
Seve carried on for years when injuries and loss of form made him hopelessly uncompetive. Olazabal and Daly are among those doing similar now. Fact is, golf is a relatively low-stress sport, so golfers almost always think there'll be a way back, no matter how bad their situation.
And Woods' isn't that bad in comparison. He's been out for a few months, but was healthy enough to be in contention in a major 3 months ago, so he's clearly not finished. Why on earth would he retire?
