Musings on what might happen after MITB
Ok, so this is a bit off the wall, but it'd be a hell of a ballsy move if they did go this way:
So, MITB, Punk wins, Vince comes down and fires Cena and then begs Punk to stay. Punk refuses, and so VKM calls down the the MITB winner to cash in. Vince tries to screw Punk out of the belt, but Cena helps Punk win, because he won fairly in their match.
So, Punk leaves with the belt and heads off to RoH for a few months, defending the belt until he comes up against his old pal, Colt Cabana, who beats him in November. Cena then pops up in RoH, and persuades Cabana to come to WWE, leaving Punk in Roh.
Fast forward to the Royal Rumble, and the surprise entry at number 30 is none other than CM Punk, who wins the Rumble and challenges Cabana for the title at Wrestlemania.
Now this is fantasy booking, and would need RoH to accomodate the WWE in it's booking - something that hasn't happened since the territory system. But it'd give RoH a MASSIVE push just as it's coming onto regular, network TV in the States (I still need to find out if anyone in Texas will broadcast it - I think the deal's limited to States that the new owner broadcasts in). It'd also legitamise a fued between Punk and Cena (or Cabana if he passes the main event tests that he'd be given - which would essentially be a match at the Rumble and then the match against Punk at Mania, who he's already worked with) after WM, it'd introduce Cabana to the WWE if they show RoH matches that Punk defends the title in, it'd bring a lot of Indy fans back to the WWE to follow how Cabana and Punk do there, and it'd be legitimately the biggest story in wrestling since the Monday Night wars.
Now, although it's completely unlikely, one question that will have to be faced is who could step up to being the main players on Raw when Punk leaves, and IF Cena gets 'fired' and given time off to heal?
Heels:
Alberto Del Rio - He seems to be getting the push, but still just leaves me cold - I've not had a reaction to him since his feud with Edge.
The Miz - Tied up with A-Ri at the moment, but has the mic skills to deliver acceptable promos, and has been able to work around his in-ring issues so far
Dolph Ziggler - He's got the look, the skills, and especially with Vicky G, he's got heat in bucketloads - but I think it's too soon to push him to this level, for some reason. I've just got a 'but' at the back of my mind.
Jack Swagger - I really think he could make this work - he's got the whole package (like Ziggler), but has been tested recently at working at the highest level, even if it was in a poopie feud with Jerry Lawler
R-Truth - The most likely, I think. He's been built up recently towards becoming a main eventer, and I think he's got the ring ability to make it work. He's definately good enough on the mic.
Faces
Big Show - I think he's too big/old/limited in his movement to be the main face, although he's definately got the experiance. Could also go as a heel.
Alex Riley - 2/3 years too soon, although he's doing well in the program with the Miz
Evan Bourne - Too small / unrealistic
JoMo - Let's face it, as much as we like him, he's a bit of a charisma vacuum, and not liked behind the scenes.
Rey Mysterio - he could do it, and is probably kid-friendly enough to lessen the marketing hit. But no. Please God, nooooooooooooooooooooo!!!!!
Kofi Kingston - Doing well at the moment, can put on a decent match, but I don't think it'll happen.
And the tweener, especially if it's for a limited time (which he probably doesn't really have to spare) - Triple H. He's still probably the biggest star name-wise, can definatley perform at that level, and would draw the money. I just hope that, if it happens, he's told in no uncertain terms, that he is there to help push and create main eventers, not bury talent!!!

If Cena does take time off for injuries i can see WWE panicking and either make Orton appear on the Raw brand every other week or ask HHH come back as a face on Raw. WWE have a terrible track record on trusting less proven talent to draw viewers.

He wrestled under a mask as Juan Cena last time he was sacked, Not as far fetched as CM Punk v Cabana main eventing Wrestlemania

Everyone knows the match that's main eventing WM next year, and that's Cena and the Rock!

- I like the idea up until this point. Plus it isn't totally unrealistic!

Yeah, my booking after that wasn't so strong - but there's just so many ways this could go. Including Cena winning cleanly, sadly.

Re: Musings on what might happen after MITB
VKM would never in a million years allow Punk to take the title to ROH, let alone have Cabana win it only then to actually go on and defend it at Mania, the biggest PPV of the year! Sorry, I know this is all hypothetical but it's totally unrealistic.
I fear Punk will inevitably lose, take some time off (maybe go back to ROH) and Cena will win cleanly nothing out of the ordinary, unless they are going to turn Cena heel and have him side with VKM in screwing Punk out of the title.
