Williams Lara *Spoilers inside* Empty Williams Lara *Spoilers inside*

Post by BoxingFan88 Sun Jul 10, 2011 12:28 am

I just finished watching the Williams Lara fight and I think Williams got hit far too many times in the head tonight. He actually believes he won that fight and wants a rematch with Martinez. Hopefully Martinez refuses to fight him out of compassion because if he does fight him Williams is going to end up in the hospital. He got caught repeatedly with the overhand left and has not learned a thing from his fight with Martinez. The HBO crew were calling for the ref to stop the fight so that williams would not get beaten up.

I know many of you thought Williams would win but that was probably the worst robbery I have seen in boxing and that even includes Huck vs Lebedev. Lara easily won the fight and bashed Williams up.

His trainer is just as delusional as he is and they just don't seem to understand that getting wacked on the chin is not a good thing.

Williams excuse after the fight was 'I was lazy' really??? In a sport where people have been seriously injured! If he doesn't get out now he might become the next person to have a horrific injury. He has his money, he clearly has a huge defensive flaw and should get out now.

Feel very sorry for Lara he won the fight easily and got absolutely robbed, bet you Williams won't be wanting a rematch! The judges were inexperienced and either incompetent or paid off.

This need investigated IMO. If these judges were paid off then they picked the wrong fight to do it.

How can judges give rounds to a fighter who is rocked throughout rounds?

If they are incompetent then they should be banned from scoring and if they were paid off then they should be banned and Lara should be declared the winner. Williams is gonna end up in a bad way. Why push a fighter towards more dangerous fights by gigging decisions when it's clear he hasn't got the skills to be effective.

It is honestly disgusting. I would love to spit in the judges faces.

Nothing will happen, will die down after a couple of days, as usual.

I think he means that they didn't hold back on calling it a robbery.

To be honest, not one of HBO's best presentations for me. They were a bit repetitive and calling for it to be stopped was a bit much IMO.

Max Kellerman called it a 'courageous' performance, but didn't say it was a winning one. Fair play to him.

Kellerman outright called it a robbery, and told Lara he was the winner. Looked disgusted in the final summary.

I didn't think he'd called it a robbery so much as implied it very heavily. Either way, sounds like he was right. The look on Williams' face before the results were read said it all. He knows he lost.

Maybe didn't use the word but said "That stinks", "indescribably bad", "incompetent decision" and "should recognise it as a win for Lara, loss for Williams".

Just saying it was stronger than him just not calling it a winning performance by Williams. I'm talking in the final summation btw, not that in-ring interviews.

Ah, I didn't see that I don't think, just the interviews straight afterwards. Which would explain his being a bit more tactful.
