cena the hero
Don't understand people dislike him,he does tonnes of charity work and is a Gd role model to adults and kids alike. Throw in the fact he is probably one of the best entertainer ever to grace the squared circle,he can do serious and comedy at any given time. I just couldn't imagine any other person being in Cenas's shoes, the man is simply the most exciting entertainer I've ever seen in the wrestling industry. I'm not scared to say that I buy all his merch and I pay my hard earned cash just to see him on ppv. He is entertainment personified. You name me any other comedic entertainer as good or better than John Cena? He always makes u smile and laugh easily.
There is just something about cena that brightens up everyone's day,he inspire me to be the best.
Stop the Cena hate....NOW!

In a couple of ways i agree with you, he is entertaining to an extent and he is a good role model for children with his work hard ethic and never give up attitude but its his lack of basic wrestling ability that grinds me about the man. The john cena package is pretty much what VKM wants in an "entertainer" though

The Rock???
Anyone can see Cena is completely on another level! People can't see what us men and our kids see and that is pure genius with Cena.
Too much hate.

Do I really see question marks next to The Rock as greatest entertainer? The man was a genius and personified entertainment.
You take about us hating but you take it to the complete opposite level.

You have to admit 'The Rock' pales in significance when it comes to Cena, the greatest ever to live?
No arguments for me,he's the sole reason why we all the wwe. Just makes everything tick,he doesn't even need that stupid belt...what is that for? Cena is bigger and better than that stupid belts. Just get rid of it for good,I'm watching to be entertained! Not to mess about with 'props'.

Re: cena the hero
There is no denying that what Cena has done for the WWE and Charities is brilliant. He' has inspired many kids and adults alike to help with charity and to be the best person you can.
The hate for Cena on here isnt about what he's done for WWE and Charities, but is about his lack of wrestling ability. Every match, its the same old, shoulder block, shoulder block, bulldog, 5 knuckle shuffle, Attitude Adjustment, pin, win. It just gets a bit repetitive.
But I do respect him and all he has done for the company and others outside it.

But Owl, would you not enjoy Cena more if it wasn't so obvious that he was going to win almost every pay per view, would you not enjoy WWE more if you went into a match genuinly believing Cena could be beat?

Re: cena the hero
When Cena returned at the Rumble a few years ago as entrant No 30, I admit I marked out a little. Then I remembered, oh hang on, I don't like this guy lol.
For me, there are times when I dont mind watching him, like the feud he had with Nexus. But recently, he has become completely stale and boring to watch.
Admitted, he does loads out of the ring for good causes, and that is to be commended. But for most he is like marmite. You either love him, or hate him.

I don't really care what he does off screen for the WWE, its what he does onscreen that counts and the guy is just hopeless, his inability to sell a move/beating/injury after 6 years as the top guy is an absolute joke and he has absolutely zero credability when it comes to realism with his promos

Re: cena the hero
Are you kidding me mate? Big Show chokeslamed him through a spot light at Backlash 2 years ago and he still walked out geared up the next night on RAW, the acting was terrible but he shouldn't have been on screen for a month, the Nexus destroyed him twice and he was all smiles the next night/week, Miz beat the life out of him for 20 mins at OVL and within 3 minutes he had Miz screaming

What about the beating Nexus gave Cena at Summerslam last year? Dropped him on the concrete and everything. less than 5 minutes after that he'd won the match. Pinning 2 of the Nexus.

Re: cena the hero
You've hit thee nail on the head though mate. That's all cena is, entertaining on the mic. His in ring skills are nowhere near the best in the business and he can't even make his own submission look convincing
Any criticism he gets is not aimed at him personally, the fact he does so much for charity is to be respected if anything, its just the constant pushing of a superstar who has become very predictable.
I don't blame john cena though to be honest. It obviously shows a lack of faith they have in some of the younger stars if they continue to push somebody who has both been there and done that
it's gone wrong big style

Good effort though, 10/10 for trying.
I think part of it with Cena is complacency. He's not had anyone really in the last 3 years who's made him work hard to stay at the top of his game.

Re: cena the hero
Jesus, I turn my back for a minute and suddenly you all like Cena?!
My opinion...
He's dreadful. Absolutely terrible. When he tries to be serious he looks like he's going to cry; when he tries to be funny he is really, really bad.
He doesn't book himself, but has a huge input into his own promos and wouldn't be forced to say anything he doesn't want to say. Vince McMahon has full confidence in him to write his own promos.
His matches look as fake as anyone's I've ever seen. He looks like someone who is "playing wrestling". I don't actually think his matches are too bad, but they look so fake. None of his offence looks like it hurts, there is no impact or snap to his moves.
He never sells anything for anyone, not in a match, not in a storyline, never. That may not be entirely his fault, so I'll blame WWE for that.
He is a complete dork. That's the only word I can find to describe him. His facial expressions, outfits, acting, jokes, all so dorky. He was a dorky rapper and a dorky marine. He doesn't seem to realise that he wasn't a real marine, he just played one in a movie.
He is something of a draw, in that children buy his merchandise, ticket sales go up if he is on a house show, PPV and TV numbers are lower without him in the show, BUT, I think that would be the case with any wrestler who was pushed so strongly. If Chavo Guerrero or Mark Henry or Christian or anyone had been given such a strong, sustained push as the main babyface star of the company, they would have a similar impact on business. On the other hand, PPV ratings are much lower now than when Cena's main event run began in 2005, TV ratings are lower, and house show business is around the same.
I think he doesn't have any real understanding of the industry, what works and what doesn't work. I don't think he's a student of the game at all. He might be an expert on how WWE works in 2011, but he doesn't know why things have been successful or unsuccessful in wresting, and I'm not even sure he could tell the difference.
I don't ever see WWE's business growing with him as the top star, I don't rate him in the ring or on the mic (though he is undeniably charismatic), and I can't see adult males ever accepting him as the top act. I don't even think they will like him when he's a heel. I think they just hate him because he's a dork. His role as the top babyface in WWE makes me question the judgment of Vince McMahon. He will always limit the company's potential while he is the number one wrestler.
So yeah, that's what I think.

I understand that Cena does all this charity work and it's great. But IN the ring he is rubbish! His fans irritate the rudey poo out of me and his cheesy superman, hustle, loyalty and respect gimic just irritates me even more.
Cena needs to turn heel immediatley and he could do it on Sunday!
Vince witnessed lastnight on raw that the fans are on Punks side and Cena's image has become dry and by the looks of it CM punk is becoming face.
And i'm i the only person who is seeing sleight traits of heel in Cena now ?

No, I think there are too, I believe it's all build up for The Rock vs. John Cena at Wrestlemania, and facing CM Punk in his home town is also a tester for how Cena can handle not being the cheered face. I think when it comes down to Wrestlemania it will be John Cena who is the more likely to get the boos than The Rock, and I think Cena and the WWE are preparing for this by having Cena come across as the bitter champ, the bitter company man. Facing CM Punk, the darling of the IWC, in his home town is brilliant preparation for that.
