I am more shocked than surprised to learn no one off this MB has been to see the test matches live at the grounds.
I am not giving up though.

I've been to plenty, cameras are absolutely fine in my experience.
You'll have more trouble if you brought cans of drink, which are increasingly not being allowed in!

I went to day 3 of the Cardiff ashes test, and the final day (morning) of the Pakistan test at TB last year. Both times a good experience.

I've been to plenty here in Oz, some great...some not so good
There are some restrictions at certain grounds. I'm no photography expert but I remember someone asking the same question about the SCG. You're not allowed to take over a certain size zoom lens (large professional size?) into the ground, otherwise you need to check about a permit.
Not sure about the UK but I'd say a similar rule applies at TB.

Re: Has Any One Been to Test Matches??
Only ever been to two days of test cricket.
What turned out to be a very much shortened last day of Eng vs Zimbabwe at Lords - with Schofield playing for England Sense of atmosphere approximately zero. And several decades ago 4th day of Eng vs Australia at the Oval when match had already been largely ruined by rain. Greg Chappell and Doug Walters were in Aussie team which gives a clue as to how long ago. Not much atmosphere considering it was more or less full house - but still good enough when Bob Willis sent the stumps cartwheeling....
With any luck it will be much better this time, especially with the more attacking batting you get these days....

Re: Has Any One Been to Test Matches??
I've been to the Oval & Lords for England vs the Aussies & enjoyed every minute of it, England were winning.
On top of that I've seen England vs S. Africa at Cape Town, News Years Day Test 2000 where England got slaughtered, England vs Aus at the MCG boxing day test 2002 where England lost & SCG 2003 where England won.
And enjoyed every minute of those as well.
In short don’t hesitate you’ll love it (especially abroad) I’ve taken cameras, i.e. a small pocket camera and / or inbuilt phone camera, in to all of those grounds however you will need a decent zoom if you want decent photo’s
