Habana for me is in top 2 but been playing in poor sides. Mitchell is class and in the too tier.
Strange how so many wings had poor seasons gear,Jane, sivi, bowe, habana etc etc.
Like sprinters probably keeping themselves for the big tournaments

Stormers poor Matt? He just seems to have lost his game, similar with Rok. Doubt many would have Habana in their top 2 wings....you've got 2 better in your squad now.

I dont know Matt. Wouldnt consider the Stormers a poor side at all. Now one of the top sides these days in the Super 15. They definately have the players to get the best out of him

How many tries do stormers score?? Especially through the backs ??
Amusingly if you look back thru all our threads sje and pooly have the same views on everything. Chaps look back at your posts and I guarantee you will belly laugh at how similar they are.

Could some of the blame for a lack of tries be pointed at Habana though rather than the Stormers!?!?!? He's not looked anything for a few years now whilst Fourie has looked awsome, JDV has had a pretty steady season, Janjtes looks good when he plays too.
I think many of us on here have pretty similar outlooks on rugby, you and Steve seem to have quite close opinions.

Re: Fantasy Aviva Premiership Season 4 homepage
Hi guys,
(Apologies for the essay!)
I think it’s important that cash has some value in the league. Can really add to the game if given the right importance so just wanted to bring this up.
There’s 39 weeks of fixtures this season and if someone was to give detailed predictions each week they could be looking at earning £117m over the season with the way predictions are currently! Never mind end of competition price money if there is still to be any. That’s nearly enough for 5 top world class players based on the current foreign pricing guide. With the calibre of players left in the foreigns though it’s really enough for 6 to 7 signings. At the moment really cash just won’t be an issue for any of us. Even with a 2m bonus we are looking at 78m over the season, enough for 4 players.
Would it be wise to cut the prediction bonus to 1m for full descriptive predictions and .5m for score only predictions. That sees us getting 39m over the course of the season from predictions. Then allow prize money for the league and European cups. (Would exclude the LV from prize money because realistically I think we all see it as a chance to rest 1st teamers). Would keep the prize money for the European cups similar to the way it was last season. But would change the league prize money.
There has to be some reward for the top sides making the play offs but I think it’s unfair to be rewarded for league finish and then playoff performance. I know Worcester were giving a monster budget but 11th place wasn’t. Newcastle with the reward system the way it is currently got effectively 22m more than 11th which would kind of spoil the whole point of the prediction bonus and trying to level the playing field out.
Think maybe we should go:
Champions: 12m
Runners Up: 11m
Playoff Semi Finalist Losers: 10m
5th: 8m
6th: 7m
7th: 6m
8th: 5m
9th: 4m
10th: 3m
11th: 2m
12th: 1m
Think it helps to keep the playing field fairly even but still rewards the sides winning the league. If we have a side winning both the league and Heineken cup it sees them earning 61m over the season (not happened yet though as far as I know??). We still have enough time to raise funds for our 1 foreign during the 6 nations and will have cash at the end of the season for 2 foreigns. (This helps with another concern for the game, I.E. the dwindling foreign transfer market. If we cut foreigns to the 1 signing in season and 2 off season from now on we can keep foreigns interesting for us in the future).
Think this would make cash really important in the game again. We will actually have to budget for our transfers and may actually see cash have some kind of importance over the season again in domestic signings which it hasn’t had really since I’ve been in the league anyway.
With such importance on cash would make it clear though to get your full prediction bonus you would need to predict on every game with a score and a 3 to 5 line summary. Doing just scores or a one line reason would only see a .5m bonus as would only providing predictions on half the matches.
What do you guys think?

Craig Joubert has embarrassed himself. Knock on for the Third and fourth NZ tries (Read and Nonu respectively) and a man taken off the ball for the first try (Someone took Cooper out away from the ruck and he was the blindside defence when Weepu made the break)
NZ been good to watch but there scrum and lineout has been ordinary. Certainly a reality check for the Crockett and Franks fan club members. Crockett in particular was ineffectual.

Just on first half Steve, slight dominance in scrum so far from NZ but nothing major. Alexander actually on top of Crockett on technique.
Cooper having a stinker after 30mins.

Second pen in the scrum against Crockett, Akexander has him in all sorts of problems. Crockett playing his way out if side, he struggles against smaller men. Mas/Cole would muller him.

Carter excellent in defence and kicking. Reckon he has a few gears to go through with ball in hand.
Ioane was brilliant. Outplayed every other back 3 player and made Mils look stupid for the first Oz try.
Apart from that the Oz backline was pretty average although it was better in the 2nd half. Very good tries. Elsom looking closer to his best.
NZ need to work of Set piece. Was surprised to see them struggle today.

Although the scrum did improve when Ben franks came on.
First time I've seen JOC struggle. Cooper's decision to flick it out the back door was awful.

Total control from AB's and they blew Aus away. McCaw, Kaino and Read superb. Thought Smith and Carter standouts, sublime performances.
Cooper done some nice passes but is looking more like Spencer every game. Pretty awful all round game, so many mistakes and poor decisions. Showed a huge gulf in class to Carter and just why he isn't a top FH imo.

When he is at his best, Cooper is a World Class 10. The problem that he needs to find an answer to is one of consistency, and workign out how to cut the silly mistakes down when he is not on top form.
I think with him if things aren't going for him he tries to force the issue and looks to do something spectacular rather than allowing the game to gome to him and just staying calm.
Really hope in the World Cup he is on fire, as I do with all the top players, as I want to see the trophy won by some great play and a moment of magic rather than by a mistake from somebody costing their side the game.

Cooper was no worse than JOC, AAC or Beale. Genia only picked up his game in the fsecond half.
Didn't notice you'd become a moderator Pete. How did you get that gig?
Worth mentioning that Oz won the 2nd half. Sort out the poor defensive organisation and they will be better next time out.

Got asked to do it this morning Steve. Rugby board is getting busier as we get towards the start of the NH season and the WC and they just needed a few more mods on board to keep things ticking over nicely. Was happy to assist as it's a good firum that we don't want to see becoming a nightmare for completely unfunny WUMs who contribute nothing to discussions. Funny, well thought out and entertaining WUM's that can be construed as banter then that's all good, just the pointless stuff needs to be got rid of.

It was the mistakes that Cooper made whilst the others just played ok. I thought JOC had a decent game. Coopers mistakes cost Aus 10 points in the first. You can't afford to do that against top teams.

Smith was outstanding as usual, and agree Nonu is now nailed on at 12 for the World Cup.

I can proactively monitor threads, but I also have some new icons on my screen so if somebody reports a comment on the rugby board then I can see it and then have a look and see if any action needs taking. I don't just arbitrarily take action though, it will be discussed with other mods/admins first.
And it's just when I'm online, no shifts, that's only in my real job!

I think he was gripping the rose on the shirt Pooly, and to be fair to the lad, he's been here since he was a kid and played through the England age groups, so I think he's more entitled to show a bit of patriotism in that way than some others who have been in and around the squad.
Great scrum there from England to create the space for Haskell.

A little over the top for me, makes me chuckle rather than get annoyed.
Very very rusty but think we're in control. Pretty much a Wales first team bar front row so will take some confidence from this if we win.
Tuilagi fitting in nice and great run from Armitage, we just look loose going through the phases which will come.

Re: Fantasy Aviva Premiership Season 4 homepage
Who went to the game yesterday? I was lucky to be right behind the posts in the South Stand and you can watch everything unfold.
Was actually amazed at how much Shaw does at 37, he put himself on the plane for me yesterday. Never realised just how good he is at the breakdown.
Thought Armitage was very reassured at the back, good to see him put in a good shift again, its been a long time coming!
Wilko was brilliant, he controlled the game superbly - definitely should start ahead of Flood, who isnt in Wilko's league I'm afraid. Flutey will go now too, guess at expense of Hodgson.
What I found interesting was watching the Welsh play, they only came into the game after England made 5 subs all at once, which completely changed the game, made it scrappy and England lost all cohesion and pattern.
They were absolutely woeful up until that point and if it was a full on test match then I think they would have lost by 15+ points to what was effectively an England 'B' Team. They are in serious trouble and only Warbuton does anything at the breakdown.
They have a midfield that completely lacks ideas, Roberts and Davies are so one dimensional its untrue - they should have made so many linebreaks against Flutey and Tuilagi who have never played together before, but barely did anything. Thought they were very poor, but think its more to do with Gatland using them incorrectly.
Their breakdown work was shocking, watching how much work Phillips had to do just to get the ball from a ruck was awful.

- I actually thought Wales looked better than England in attack and a pretty good idea of what to do to get the space outwide , The both of George Norths trys were superb team trys. Both times they shifted the ball to the 13 channel took a few short phases and waited for the overlap outwide.
They have a midfield that completely lacks ideas, Roberts and Davies are so one dimensional its untrue
- Agree that Roberts was pretty poor , but thought Davies was having a cracking game at 13 especially when he stepped Manu? and took him on the outside for pace.
Agree that they breakdown was poor , felt bad for Phillips as that's probley the best he's played for Wales in a while but had poor ball half the time , Haskell get's about every where! was close to being man of match for me.
Thought Warburton played well for Wales , got the better of Moody and Wood at the breakdown but made some stupid decisions with the Ref 15 minutes left and he puts the ball into the corner whilst being 23 -12 down when he should of took the 3 and took some pressure off Wales.
