Andrew Strauss V India
Somerset are 85/0 after 25 Overs against India. Strauss is motoring away - 65* with 13 fours.

Re: Andrew Strauss V India
Strauss out for 78, caught behind off Mishra.
Good knock that though, in good time, and good to see him survive a Zaheer spell, should put a few demons to rest.

Re: Andrew Strauss V India
Not sure how many demons Strauss would have had against Zaheer tbh. He seems like a mentally strong character and although he would have been worried about his lack of form, I don't think he thinks he has that big a weakness against left arm. It has been overplayed quite a lot.
And he did knock 150 off Zaheer et al. at the WC as well!

Flat track with India resting one half of the opening pair.
Nothing to special about scoring runs at Taunton.

Just been down to the ground in my lunch break and watched a bit through the gates and Strauss looks in good form, but I'm not an expert of the game unlike LeBron's Homie.

Lebron...please try and utilise a brain cell for a moment and remember the PM's you were sent last week, before you start winding people up again.
Re: Andrew Strauss V India
Good thing that strauss took his chance and had a knock today. The weather forecast is lousy and he might not get another now.
Why isnt this game on TV ? Sky have nothing going at the mo so this game should be on !

I've made a complaint to Nando about him having a feeling he might be the same person we've encountered with before.

I think he might be sonic-boom in disguise.
Coming back to the match well played Suppiah. But lets not get carried away. Its a flat track and Somerset have a B attack.i can see the Indian batsmen making merry.

Back on the topic of the match in progress.
Sreesanth has been dreadful...but what's new? This guy loves no balls.
Mishra been flogged around at 5 rpo and seems to have injured himself.
It seems to be a straight fight between Munaf Patel and Praveen Kumar. With Munaf most likely to win the battle, as he capable 1st change bowler, whereas Kumar has to take the new ball - which is unlikely as Zaheer and Ishant will take the honours.

So if Tendulkar doesnt get a century we can all finaly agree that Bradman was a better player then?
Good move for England to get Strauss playing in this game, its a pity he couldnt partner Tesco though.

Re: Andrew Strauss V India
Whether Tendulkar or Bradman is the superior batsman isn't relevant to India vs England.Peter Seabiscuit Wheeler wrote:LeBron's Homie wrote:Flat track with India resting one half of the opening pair.

One thing is certain Tendulkar is superior to any English batsman, whether they're born in UK, South Africa or Ireland

Re: Andrew Strauss V India
been to the game today, was there till 5 when they went off for rain.
Strauss was in very good touch till he got out, score was 101 when first wicket fell, strauss 78, suppiah 17 or so, we missed the Suppiah onslaught unfortunatly (being in the pub) however from the look of the attitude of the Indians in the field they really didnt look up for the game, no effort in the field really, would just let the ball go by them without diving for it etc, they were happy to let Somerset rack up the runs.
Tresco was going to be rested anyway, however i think he was in london today for some disciplinary thing for Somerset having racked up so much of warnings or something.

Raina proves he's not only a goalie too with a top score of 20 ish but India are very deep in the mire right now.
Could Somerset make a claim for the no #1

Conditions where vastly different today, to what Somerset had a slog on yesterday.

Early days but it's been a very successful afternoon for Willoughby and co.
No news of Strauss - has he dropped any catches or been off watching the golf instead !

its incredible the rise of jimmy anderson, a few years back he was too inconstent, now he is one of the best bowlers in world cricket, and the best swing bowler

Re: Andrew Strauss V India
A entury fro Strauss in the seond innings....say what you like about the somerset pitch the following things are clear:
Strauss has some form and confidene back
The Indian batsmen are struggling to adapt to swinging conditions in England
The Indian bowlers are struggling to take wickets when theres no help, and struggling to use the swing when the conditions are condusive
This is an embaressingly poor peformance by India against a side with only 1 test player in, even if they havent had the best conditions to bat and bowl in. They are a much better side than this showing but they will have to improve a lot and get used to English conditions after a soft tour in the windies.

Re: Andrew Strauss V India
Strauss scored a hundred vs an attack without Zaheer, Ishant, Praveen and Harbhajan - so nothing Earth shattering. Didn't he score a couple of hundreds in the run up to the Sri Lanka series? We all know that after those hundreds, he was in Welagadera's pocket.Peter Seabiscuit Wheeler wrote:A entury fro Strauss in the seond innings....say what you like about the somerset pitch the following things are clear:

India struggle with bounce, India struggle with swing. Yawn. Same was said in South Africa, India will be fine.
India had 3 of its attack missing in this match, plus it was Zaheer's first F/C match in 7 months, there's something called be rusty.

great hundred from straussy, cenutry and a 80 in the game, looks in great nick

Re: Andrew Strauss V India
Straussy, no doubt is a good batsman, he will do well in the test matches too.
Its him that Eng makes a good start, the middle order batsmen build on it easliy.
Other than Sachin, Sehwag, Gambhir, Dravid, Laxi, now Raina is gonna be the center of attarction.
