I can't believe this.

MITB was the best thing that's happened to the WWE in years, I was genuinely excited about where it was going.

But well done Vince, you've proven us right once again.

apart from Cena not being fired how much could you actually have guessed for this Raw?

We have a WWE title match next week in The Miz (now able to recover) Vs Mysterio

Triple H has been put in charge of the company on screen at any rate, could you have seen that coming 2 hours ago?

Punk wasn't going to be appearing on the show, according to what he has been saying all along he's left to company, it would have been worse imo if he had been there.

It leaves big questions to be answerd next week which is what Raw should be doing to drag viewers in for next week

I just watched Raw and I am surprised people are jumping up and down. Granted Raw could've been a lot better, but again with what happened in MITB it was always going to be difficult for Raw to carry on that momentum because the only real good things that happened at MITB apart from the CM Punk win was the results of Smackdowns matches.

If and it is a big IF, the WWE is going to become less 'PG' least they have a new face for that direction. Make Miz face, turn Cena heel, let Punk be the face of the new WWE.

If the WWE pulls off a great turn in terms of it's product, I am sure all the people here ranting about how turd it is will be saying OMG it's amazing.

Any chance the RAW could have been done that way in order to build something up a long way down the line? Punk/Triple H maybe or something else? I havent seen it so cant really comment at all, just wondered from the people who had seen it.

WWE seems to be going back to how it used to be with this Punk stuff...could they be building a big looong storyline like they used to as well? Any chance??

I'm hoping here more than anything...

Triple H says he got here as fast as he could and says there was a board of directors meeting this morning. Triple H says he received a call this morning to fly back to headquarters for the meeting. The Board asked Triple H to come talk to Vince because they're concerned about the current situation.

Triple H asks Vince if they can talk about this in the back. He says the board is more concerned about Vince. He says it's a given that Vince created WWE but the board is concerned about Vince's decisions as of late. The board has filed an injunction against Vince with a vote of no confidence, Triple H reveals. Triple H says the McMahon family agrees with the injunction. On top of that, the board has appointed someone to takeover the day to day operations of WWE. That person is Triple H. The crowd pops at this news and Vince looks like yeah right.

Triple H says Vince isn't going to fire John Cena and he's not going to be doing anything else. Triple H says Vince taught him since day one that nobody is bigger than this business, nobody. Triple H says this is just business and can't believe he's saying this. Triple H is here to inform Vince that he is relieved of his duties. The crowd cheers.

Vince starts crying as the crowd sings goodbye to him. Triple H looks like he might get emotional also as he keeps his head down. Triple H says he's trying to do what's right for the business and tells Vince to look at him. Triple H says, I love you pop and I'm sorry. Triple H drop the mic and exits the ring while Vince cries his eyes out. The crowd finally claps for Vince as he just stands there in the ring. RAW goes off the air with "Thank you Vince" chants from the crowd as he is still crying.

I don't see the issue with this RAW really...Vince McMahon was just displaced by HHH -- that's a pretty big development!

It could never live up to MITB anyway, it had everything, the crowd, the match, the ramifications... They just got on with it and furthered a story line that could develop to be great.

Anyone see Punk and Vince aligning as true WWE champ and true WWE owner and coming back to take control of the company?

I havent seen Raw, but are you all disappointed because Punk wasnt there? If so, i think you need a reality check. Punk has said from the start of this angle he was leaving on July 17 as WWE Champion, which he did, so how would it make sense for him to turn up on Raw the next night? I'm glad Punk wasnt on Raw, he'll be back at some point no doubt, but the very next night would have gone completely against the grain.

It seems like an element of being spoiled by the last few weeks and the Punk/Cena story. It had to end though -- Cena was supposedly fired and Punk left either way...

On the plus side, it's nice that expectations were high enough to facilitate disappointment!

It is a mechanical leap forwards.

they spent ages telling us what it would mean for this prestigious title to be taken out of the wwe.

One day passes and its all "we'll just have a tournament"

So all that had gone before meant nothing.

They could have gotten over that by having Vince running round last night trying to look for loopholes to make punk defend the belt.

they still could have had the same ending, but cite vinces failure to deal with the situation as the reason for getting shpt of him. That makes the things that went on before have importance.

to me, that makes much more sense.

I thought that myself when I read about the tourney although they still haven't crowned a new champion. It was Vince that made the tourney but now he's gone, so could easily be explained in with Vince's strange decisions that have led him to be embargoed.

unbelievable! I wasn't sure how WWE were going to follow up from last night's resounding success but they've really done themselves proud with this - how historic has the last two days been? CM Punk leaves the WWE as champion and now Vince is relieved of his duties with a vote of no confidence! This is a wrestling story telling masterclass. Brilliant drama. OK

For all those fans who fell out of love with wrestling you're going to regret not being a part of this and living through it. This is a new epoch in pro wrestling and I'm going a long for the ride!

I actually thought it was a good show, we had plenty of wrestling, a huge development in the story and it's a good thing Punk wasn't on the show, as I felt that would have ruined the match they had before. I liked that they even tried to avoid saying his name as it really sold the angle.

I don't know what else people expected.

I think it's fairly obvious whether they crown a new champion or not, it will develop into a story at a later point when CM Punk returns with the title.

I thought the Vince Triple H thing while it seemed cheesy was done in a realistic way, although I was hoping for Haitch to scream; "YOUUUU'REEEE FIIIIRREEEED!" and Pedigree Vince, but it wouldn't really have made much sense.

I really don't know what more everybody was expecting...

I just watched the Vince-Triple H segment and for how cheesy it was, it is a major development, on-air anyway. Triple H as the on-air chairman could end up being a thing of beauty considering he plays a good face and a brilliant heel, he could play it either way (please heel). A fued between him and CM Punk at some stage could be amazing, just think Vince-Austin but evolved.

After MitB, Raw was always going to be nothing but a disappointment.

The only thing that made it any different from any other Raw was the Vince segments throughout the night. As big as a downer it appeared to be, hopefully it means a lot more air time for Trips.

I'd like to think that somewhere in the future Shane O Mac will bring Punk back and do a "I should be the next chairman, not you" thing against Trips but it's probably the longest of long shots.

I thought there was quite a bit of good wrestling in the show actually, considering they'd done the Money in the Bank match before the matches were pretty good for a standard Raw show.

Vinnie Mac has just been usurped by Trips and people are disapointed? To me that is a monumental shift in the WWE storyline and a master stroke of story telling.

Whats the problem?

If you had stayed up to watch this you would have felt deflated. I enjoyed the wrestling, the end segment was pretty good.

Obviously next weeks raw will be better and further enhance the story.

This is a huge development and I really can't understand why people are complaining and whining about Raw - if you stayed up to watch it after MITB then your reaction will probably be at least partially influenced by lack of sleep and weariness. Secondly an episode of Raw is never in a million years going to top one of the best PPVs in the modern era of wrestling. Keep your expectations realistic! This is a historic Raw - HHH has just become the official chairman of the WWE (at least on screen). It is the ultimate irony that Vince has got fired!!! Come'n people look at the bigger picture!!! steam

It was never going to top MITB, and in fairness, it did it's job. It closed off the Vince/Cena issue and then gave us more to hook in to....

1) Where is Punk?
2) When's he coming back?
3) What's happening with HHH?
4) Are we getting a new title?
5) Will Cena go after Punk?

This could be brilliant.

Can anyone else see Punk returning with the title and feuding with whoever the new champion will be?

Can see this following a similar path to HBk and Razor Ramon with a ladder match being used to settle it.

Punk claiming as he never lost the belt that he is still the champion, both titles above the ring etc.

Or should Punk not return anytime soon, will WWE invoke the old Punk stripped of the title due to not defending it within 30/60/90 days of his win.

This was exactly what I was thinking, I've just started watching the rest of the show and tbh, the fact that it's close to a night of wrestling is a good thing. This was probably the best way to move on, tease that they'll be a new WWE Champion then BAM. Well, maybe a BAM.

The only problem I had with it was before Wrestlemania we were told how Triple H is cold and feels no remorse or emotion, but now he's on raw on the verge of tears. I suppose it is his father in law but it raised a question mark in my mind.

Surely there will be a response from Vince, he wont just leave at that. Or is he done as an on-screen character?

Lets look at how ruthless Triple H was during his reigns as Champion and the potential of how ruthless he could be as a chairman.

It has been a very historic couple of days, which is surely setting up a Punk-HHH fued.

My mistake! Surely even the kids can remember as far back as Wrestlemania though. My 10 year-old cousin even said to me this morning "Triple h wouldn't cry would he".
