It's content like that makes the gigantic sh*tshow of irrelevent opinions and theories worth trawling.

Sutcliffe was the first name that sprang to mind when Jeff told us his he shared a surname with a mass murderer.

The only disappointment is that GB couldn't take advantage of it after being set up so nicely for a cameo.

I'm starting to think he might be Peter Sutcliffe. His p*ssing in the pool story exhibits just the sort of behaviour I'd expect of a truck-driving, prostitute-murdering serial killer.

Just read the orca article. More interesting than the headlines about it. Way more interesting than any arthropod article I've ever read.

I've read a few stories about boats being attacked by great whites in the Med but this is far more chilling, the way the cheeky buggers join forces.  I don't know if you've seen footage of orcas working in unison to wash seals off ice floes but it makes me think that mass extinction of sea life might not be a bad thing.

Scientific consensus is that the orcas are not attacking the boats as much as playing with them.

Scientific consensus is that arthropods are way more interesting than what are basically Great White sharks who were not quite hard enough to join the club.

Read all these things before, Jules. They mean nothing. If I were to drop you (naked or in Speedos) in a pool with a Great White or an Orca and you had to tread water for 30 minutes, you're going to choose the Orca every time.

Just to clarify, do you mean the famous Black Mamba dildo or the snake?

Might make a difference to my decision.

Sorry, couldn't find my shin pads. Coming on now late in injury time.

I can't be Sutcliffe, never driven a truck. Always marvelled at this story about him though. The police investigation was seriously side tracked for several years as the police concentrated their efforts upon finding someone known as Wearside Jack who had sent letters and a tape recording confessing to the crimes. Although Wearside Jack had no involvement and was merely an attention seeking hoaxer by the real name of John Humble, the police were convinced of his guilt as he had evidence of some of the murders which apparently would only have been known to the killer. It was only years later following Sutcliffe's arrest that it was realised Humble had got the details from a regional tv programme featuring a police interview that those heading the investigation knew nothing about.

It was all pretty local to here, before my time, but all the locals generally complain that at the time, there were roadblocks all around town, and everyone was stopped and searched constantly.

We also had the crossbow cannibal, who pleaded not guilty but stated his name as the crossbow cannibal .

I've noticed they've given some places dual names now to satisfy the sensitive revisionist types.

The Opera House is on Bennelong Point... named after some local chap who was kidnapped by the Governor... and decided to hang out there. Nice views. Place must be worth a fortune now. Should actually be Baneelon according to some. Lots of inconsistencies in the spelling of these names and places.

Once watched something called "Sticky Theatre" from the steps of the Opera House. I had been drinking in the Botanic Gardens all day so was slightly worse for wear by the time this thing started in the evening, but I seem to recall a lot of fluorescent sellotape puppets mincing about to the kind of music that usually accompanies interpretive dance.

Was disappointing because the name had suggested it was going to be some kind of live sex show.

I went to a number of operas in the late 90s with a French bird I was trying to impress.  Probably about ten hours in total without even coming close to getting my leg over.  The last one (possibly the Marriage of Figaro) included another 'friend' from work she'd invited who did get his leg over.

During the Vivid festival each year there is an acid jazz feel to the place with schizo lights and plenty of interpretive video projections on buildings. Think they even had a caricature portrait of our mate Bennelong plastered on Customs House, Galted. Music pumping out from all corners.... imagine what he'd think of all that.

I pity anyone who has been out in the sun all day drinking and then pops a happy pill just as the sun is setting. Did something similar to that one year and I certainly don't remember how I got home. Those were the days...

You should have just taken her to watch Se7en. Still results in a lack of sex but the time commitment is dramatically less.
