London Wasps
Manager – Arry
16. Tatafu Polota-Nau 17. Benn Robinson 18. Charlie Beech 19. Stuart Hooper 20. James Haskell 21. Martin Roberts 22. Rory Clegg 23. Noah Cato
Tactics
Usual Wasps tactics look to stamp our authority on the game early on by starting at a high intensity with some big carrying from our forwards. We will look to get the offloading game going if possible to keep Quins on the back front.
We will use our centres as crash ball options and look to support them in numbers and create space out wide for our wingers to use.

Tactics
Normal Falcons high intensity tactics......compete in pack and target lineout with numerous jumpers. Control breakdown and look to attack with turnover ball.
Pretorious to attack the fringes and Evans to call the shots in the backline. Ben Smith will look to come into the line and McAlister will offer second kicking option

Tactics
No tactics as such, just that I would be instructing all of these players to play their normal game. So would not be using Borthwick as a carrier, but he would be calling the lineouts etc.
Could I have feedback on the team overall please as I am now trying to work out my best post World Cup line up.
Thanks guys.

We are going to play controlled rugby. We are going to look to get to good field position using our pack and the boot of Burns. When we get good position we will look to spread the ball wide to our exciting back 3. We will look to use our bench to make an impact throughout the second period. We want to put pressure on the Wasps set piece and disrupt there play in general.

16. Tom Lindsay 17. Paul Doran-Jones 18. Fabien Barcella 19. Geoff Parling 20. Kieran Read 21. Jonny Arr 22. Colin Slade 23. Tom Catterick

Pretorious to attack the fringes and Evans to call the shots in the backline. Ben Smith will look to come into the line and McAlister will offer second kicking option.

Wasps tactics
Usual Wasps tactics look to stamp our authority on the game early on by starting at a high intensity with some big carrying from our forwards. We will look to get the offloading game going if possible to keep Quins on the back front.
We will use our centres as crash ball options and look to support them in numbers and create space out wide for our wingers to use.

Re: Fixture 7
Bath 22-22 Exeter
Good up front battle, touch more to Exeter in the scrum, bit for Bath in the loose. Interesting engine rooms. Alot of grunt but good lineout ops for Bath, very athletic units for Exeter. I like both
units although different and not much give in the front 5's. Solid backrow units from both sides and nice balance, bit more quality from Exeter though.
I've got Exeter taking halfbacks as Shingler an unknown for me. Good Exeter pairing and similar in centres with 2 good centre pairings. Very tasty back 3 from Bath that will give issues.
Tight game from 2 good teams that I just can't separate with both having good quality throughout.

Re: Fixture 7
Bath 14 16 Exeter
In the front 5, good close battle at scrum time. Two strong THs and issues at LH on both sides so neither side is going to get on top here. At the lineout can see Chiefs getting on top with two specialists picking off a few Bath throws. Much more in grunt and around the park from Baths engine room for me though. In the back row Exeter on top for me. Neither BS brings a lot of confidence but Jennings in top form at 7 and Delve a step up from Guest currently.
In the half backs I have Exeter shading it. Not much in it at scrumhalf but Shingler doesn’t have a lot of experience and will need game time this season in real life to be rated. In the backs I have Bath a class above in the back 3 with a great set of wingers out. Midfields tight but shading to Chiefs just slightly for me with a better balance. Both benches have a bit of impact to bring in so no real advantage here.
Exeter on top in the back row battle and Jennings will have a good say in the break down battle in this game. Comes down to the Fly half battle really for me. Myler with decent ball is the right type of 10 to take advantage of Chiefs lineout advantage and will play the percentages. Not to sure what Shingler can offer yet though. Bath back 3 will keep them going forward but not enough for this one.
Gloucester 21 21 Leicester Tigers
At scrum time Tigers shading the battle but not enough to really disrupt Glaws for me. At the lineout both sides with fairly similar options here and should hold their own ball. In terms of grunt and mobility around the park both sides even for me. An even front 5 battle in this one. Same story in the back row. Have it even at BS, Lund ahead at 7 and Alberts at 8. Good balance to both sides. Great pack battle overall.
At halfbacks its one a piece but Glaws ahead overall with Genia >>> Young and Flood > Donald. In the backs both sides lacking form in midfield but Barnes is the key man on show. Back 3s to Tigers though with a step up in quality with some top players. On the benches Tigers have the forwards to really get a strangle hold on the last 20 minutes but some good back options for Glaws.
Very good even game here. Pack battle would be great to watch. Can see Glaws getting themselves ahead with genia and Barnes helping to pull the strings on attack but Tigers pack will really get on the front foot over the last 20 or so minutes with the subs to come in. Difficult to split so will call it a draw. If I was taking home advantage into consideration Glaws to pick up a ½ point win at home and vice versa for Tigers dependent on tactics.
London Wasps 20 14 Harlequins
Scrum battle to Wasps for me. Nieto in real life has really given Marler a rough time in their meetings so far. At the lineout battle would expect Wentzel to pick a ball or two off an out of form Donnelly. Back row battle is interesting. Wasps slightly shading it at the moment but could change during the season if Vernon can get on well at Sale in real life.
Halfbacks to Wasps for me. An on form Kelleher would be a class ahead in this game but he was pretty poor last season while Classens had a tidy year and Gopperth is the better 10 on show. In the backs great defensive combo on show from Wasps. Going to need a creative spark to get through that midfield. Back 3s probably even on current form but a fit on form Mitchell would be the star player on show. On the bench Wasps still going with a lot of internationals and will have an edge in the last 20.
Wasps in control at the set piece for me in this one and with that midfield will suffocate the Quins ball carriers on defence. Can’t see past a win for Arry’s lads in this one.
London Irish 17 22 Newcastle Falcons
At the scrum I can see Newcastle with a slight edge due to Servat at hook. Issues at LH for Newcastle and TH for Irish for me. Alexander not in great form this year and Nel a penalty liability at the scrum. At the lineout POC will sneak a ball or two. The Irish engine room is pretty light on ball carrying for me. Back row battle to the Falcons for me. Think overall Irish maybe lacking a few carrying options in the pack.
In the halfbacks decent battle at scrumhalf but Newcastle a step up at FH. In the backs Irish lacking a bit of form in midfield and Basteraud not the strongest positionally in defence. It’s definitely a combo that could work with ball in hand though. Falcons currently shading with some better form. Back 3 good even battle with both sides solid on attack and defence. On the benches Irish with some good game changers to bring on in the backs but Newcastle with some world class forwards to come into the fray.
Can see Newcastle winning the forward battle in this one and smothering Irish on defence. With Evans at 10 and a stronger midfield see them picking up the win here.
Northampton Saints 22 20 Worcester Warriors
Good battle at the scrum here with neither side getting on top for me. A more destructive scrummager at TH for Saints would have seen them cause problems. At lineout see Saints causing a few issues with a few more options and some better quality. In terms of grunt Worcester maybe edging with Hamilton but Saints much more mobile. In the back row battle its fairly tight. Better balance to Saints but a much better carrying threat from Worcester.
Half backs to Worcester for me. Ford a great talent but defence has been an issue at academy level for him never mind against fully fledged internationals. In the backs two hard running midfields from both sides. Defence not an issue for either midfield in this game (have noted on the homepage up against a faster more creative centre think Tuilagi’s positioning can be shown up). Back 3 battle maybe just shading to Saints here with some bigger names. On the bench Saints with a lot more impact to bring on.
Good fair battle between two evenly matched sides here but with a lot more on the bench for Saints to bring on can see them winning this game in the last 10/20 minutes.

Re: Fixture 7
Gloucester 25-23 Leicester
Another good up front battle with Leicester having a little more in the scrum. Strong engine rooms but think Gloucester take both, although Bakkies lacks a bit of form he's still quality. Really tight
backrow battle, prefer Leicester 6/7 but Gloucester shade 8 just. Pretty tight pack battle.
One a piece in halfbacks but shading with Gloucester with Genia in special form. Flood over Donald by a fair but more so Genia/Youngs. Tough to separate midfield with no form for Gloucester (although class in Barnes) and class as 12 for Leicester and decent form but Molenaar the weakness slightly although a good AP player. Back 3 sides to Leicester with better wings but Gloucester stronger FB.
Real close affair again but see Gloucester just edging it with a little more, 2 belting teams though.

Re: Fixture 7
Wasps 27-22 Quins
See Wasps putting pressure on scrum time but Quins offering more around the park with ball in hand. Slight lack of form for Quins in engine room but in class they take the Wasps pair. Wasps edge backrow too with a good trio with a nice balance. Vernon/Henry weren't in best of form late season and prefer Dowson 6/8 but nothing major here and still a strong backrow that would give teams trouble. Slight edge in pack to Wasps.
Halfbacks to Wasps, Kelleher/Claassens pretty close with Kells lack of form (be fine when he starts playing, big fan) but Gopperth on a totally different level to Burns. Fan of Lowe at 13 but Wasps centre pairing class above, Kefu not great. Hard to split the back 3's with Mitchell the standout and Roko off the back off a decent season.
Wasps with slightly better pack and stronger in halfbacks and centres give them win.

Re: Fixture 7
Saints 18-18 Worcester
Front row pretty tight but front 5 shading to Saints with more proven class. Think Saints have a good lineout backrow to help no real lineout guy in engine room but Worcester's 3 are slightly the better players. Good pack battle.
Simpson shades the 9's but Robinson on different level to Ford who's possibly not up to this level yet. 2 good centre pairing shading to Saints in class but McCabe the better 12 in form. Hard to call back 3's with Halfpenny lacking form.
Odd game this one as I think a better 10 and Saints have it by a score but hard to rate Ford when he's played no top class games (ok in LV but against second string sides mostly) if he gets game time for Leicester his rating will go up.

Re: Fixture 7
Saracens 23-21 Sale
Big big front row battle. If Jones was in form I think Sarries would edge in scrum but don't think we'd see move in set piece. Bit more in loose for Sarries though. Engine room to Sale,
Nallet/Chulski pretty close but Bekker ahead of Borths for me. Close backrows, Pickles/JVN very close, Vito edges Wood but Dus offering more than Todd. Shades to Sarries. Not 100% with balance of Sarries backrow, think Dus and Wood have very similar styles...just can't put my finger
on it at the minute.
Fantastic halfback battle, one a piece but two v good combo's. Not a massive fan of FTD on Int
scene but he looks to be getting better and finished season v well. Again it's kind of one a piece in centres. Not sure Spence is 100% up to this level yet but he's really coming along, I personally need to see a bit more from him. Bit more for Sarries in back 3.
Good game but Sarries have slight edge.
Pete....
Not sure of balance of backrow esp in flanks. Think I need to dwell on that one a little. Spence needs more game time although looks a real talent, if strongest XV I'd look at other options till he come good.
Johnny.....big fan of Schuster, very powerful scrummager and will hold own v most. On centres I prefer your Hook/Fruen combo if an option although Barkley/Fruen has a nice look to it but perhaps lacking Int quality against stronger pairings. Backrow balance nice, 3 good players.

Sarries 20 14 sale. 2 good teams and excellent packs. Pete has an exceptional backrow that had great balance. Think Todd is a bit of a weakness at 7 when up against dusatoir or wood who are top players.
A great game and sarries have some good hard runners in the backs who can cause problems. I see earls, strettle and Rooney as not great defenders and think nonu and ioane etc could give them prOblems. Not seen enough of Rooney to rate him. Likewise for spence. 13 has been Petes achilles heel for a while and spence needs to play well in some high profile games to get rated.
Feedback on your team pete would be great 2 and 3 unsure over corbs still.
Nallet gives grunt but borths average. Top back row and tried and trusted halfbacks.
Good backline but you need another ballplayer in it. Lots of hard direct runners but Goode aside not much sublety. Need another footballer in there in my opinion

Re: Fixture 7
Bath 25-28 Exeter - backrow for Exeter stronger and like balance of their midfield. Not biggest fan of Steyn, seems to slow down the flow of a game.
Glos 31 - 27 Tigers - great pack for Mat and good balance to backline. Think Gloucester have a great bench that really swings it. Think Young would get schooled by Genia.
Wasps 24-26 Quins - in wet, wintery conditions I would have gone for Wasps, who are going to be very difficult to beat during November-February. But Quins have a bit more energy around them, which is key.
Irish 19-23 Falcons - much prefer Irish 11-15, great balance and will attack Falcons and give them a torrid time. But think Falcons have stronger front five and Nick Evans can keep scoreboard ticking over. Irish out score on try front but Falcons get the win.
Sarries 27-26 Sale - think Sarries have more strength on the pitch, really good team - but my big issue is that apart from Nonu and Ioane I dont know where the tries are coming from in that backline - not Cueto or Goode and Spence is a few years off being a top player at this level and he wont break down the big defence. In wet conditions Sarries are fine, but in dry and sunny I cant see them scoring lots of tries.

Lol. I don't have Mod access on the sports gaming board, I can only mod things on the rugby board so you're all safe over here.
