TBH considering the success of v2 since it opened 9 months(ish) ago, I'm surprised at the relative lack of interest in the chatbox.

Whenever I've been there the chat has been dominated by off topic stuff like fantasy wrestling (is there any other sort?) or has been a ghost town.

Major sporting events have been largely snubbed by the membership and it's not unusual for the chat box to be requested and then ignored even by the person who requested it (no names, but you know who you are)

Doesn't cost anything to put it on for 1 or 2 people I guess so I'm not suggesting a change - just seems to be a surprising failure of what is otherwise a big succes story for V2

I think it comes down to personal preference sometimes Davie.
Like you, I think its a great feature. But some prefer to have 'match threads'. Which I have no problems with either, each to their own I guess.

Certainly for the big boxing events it has been popular, the footy draws the normal regulars and we get over 15 joining for the big wrestling events.

I think the Royal Rumble holds the record for most on the chat box, we hit 27 on it at one stage.

Depends on the sport I think. It's a fair point you make, when you are on Davie have you tried to get a sports conversation going?

Yes, and perhaps you've helped to futher explain my point. Yes, it's a fair point that thing go off topic, but I also think that it only happens when people don't talk about sport. If someone picks up the sport vibe again, then it goes back to sport. It ebbs and flows.

But it's up to the person - if they want to talk about sport, they have to start it.

why dont we just agree to disagree. A lot of people like using the chat box, and think its very good, and its clearly gonna stay, so we might as well just get used to it

I have given up on the hopes of a chat box.But can I at least get my PM facility back?Not being able to send PMs is a huge hindrance as I have to send quiz answers,etc.

Unfortunately TopHat the chat box needs to be opened and closed by an admin and as there are currently none of them online, I assume they chose to close it.

is there any chance of the box going on for the test cricket plz?
