indian gp threat by farmers
Hundreds of angry Indian farmers have threatened to sabotage the new Buddh circuit.
With the New Delhi venue scheduled to host the inaugural Indian Grand Prix in October, over 300 farmers on Wednesday staged a protest near the site.
DNA India said they are angry at how their lands were acquired to make room for the project.
Calling themselves the Bhartiya Kisan Union, they are threatening to "dismantle the racing track with force if necessary" if their demands are not met.
They reportedly drafted a letter to authorities demanding money, educational placements and the establishment of industries to generate employment.
"We are warning you that if our demands are taken casually, we will be forced to launch an agitation," the farmers wrote.

Bonjourno!
Perhaps as a commercial revenue loss to Bernie it would prove a disaster. To the fans the Indian GP has as much as an impact to the spectacle as the Bahrain GP.
Get it off the calender and get Turkey back on the calender. The the Indians have their farm land back!
In fact there are numurous other GP tracks in the world that are more worthy of staging a Grand Prix rather than exploiting a country for cash that it clearly does not have because its recieving a tidy welfare package from HM Revenue and Customs every month.
The next time BT call me from their Dehli call center I shall talk with the locals and tell them that I am behind the farmers strike!
Forza Indian Farmers bringing the GP down from the inside!
Forza Alonso!

wow Allesandro you said something sensible.
and i agree.
There are tracks that are already built that could be put into the calender instead of this one. As much as i love Turkey, it isnt pulling in the punters. Its all about money as per usual.

You've hit the nail on the head Critical_mass.
Ecclestone couldn't give a flying wheelnut about the fans...its all about who'll pay the most to host a race.
Its a real shame, as I'd love to see India host a GP, but not at the expense of destroying the livelihoods of the locals.
