Presenters talking about who they would play in the T20's as England are likely to go with more youngsters than normal:

Names chucked up:

Alex Hales
Jos Buttler
Ben Stokes
James Taylor
Danny Briggs
Johnny Bairstow

Think their side looked something like:

1) Craig Kieswetter (W)
2) Alex Hales
3) James Taylor
4) Ben Stokes
5) Johnny Bairstow
6) Samit Patel
7) Chris Woakes
8) Tim Bresnan
9) Stuart Broad (C)
10) Danny Briggs
11) Jade Dernbach

So If England are to go with a younger side what would yours be?

I agree with Knight and Butcher that we don't want to completely ditch the current side and play a younger squad, we should keep the backbone of our team the same. My side would look something like:

Hales
Kieswetter
Pietersen
Taylor
Stokes
Morgan
Patel
Bresnan
Broad
Dernbach
Briggs

I don't think I'd have Woakes in there - he's more a line and length bowler, and seems to struggle in one-day matches. I'd prefer to see someone like Meaker in instead of him.

I've said it before and I'll say it again, Meaker isn't ready yet. Also Bopara? Anyone else please! I think Hales is a shoe in and I would like to keep as much of the backbone of the Test side as possible to help intigrate the newbies. Apart from Bopara I quite like the look of JDizzle's team above but I'd keep Swann in unless they feel he needs a break.

1) Kieswetter (W)
2) Hales
3) Bell
4) Taylor
5) Hildreth
6) Morgan
7) Woakes
8) Bresnan
9) Broad (C)
10) Briggs (give Swann a break before Pakistan in UAE)
11) Dernbach

think Jack Brooks would make my squad as well

Carrotdude, you just reminded me with your point about Bopara that I was missing someone from my side! I meant to include Morgan for Bopara but forgot. Doh

So just flick Mogs in for Ravi and that is my side.

I'd prefer Rashid to Briggs if Swann doesn't play.

Rashid being a leg-spinner could tempt the selectors but based on current form they should go with Briggs.

Maybe...

01 Kieswetter (wk)
02 Hales
03 Taylor
04 Morgan (vc)
05 Stokes
06 Buttler
07 Patel
08 Shahzad or Woakes
09 Broad (c)
10 Dernbach
11 Briggs

Captain and vice-captain stay for experience, Kieswetter has been around a while too. 5 debutants. Another option is to keep Lumb (with a view to the sub-continent where the next T20 WC will be played) and play Hales at 3, as T20 is Taylor's weakest format.

Not sure about #8. Shahzad's form has been poor this year whilst Woakes is more suited to the longer format. But I'd go with one of them as they are good prospects.

My team:

Kieswetter (w)
Hales
Pietersen
Morgan
Stokes
Patel
Buttler
Broad (c)
Meaker
Dernbach
Briggs

Basically, play the strongest side available apart from the bowlers who will have played the test/odi series as they could use some rest. Obviously excluding Broad as he needs all the captaincy experience he can get.

With the exception of the captain and vice-captain, I'd like to see players who play Tests + ODIs + T20Is rested, so that includes Bresnan as well as Pietersen, Swann and Bell.

At the moment,

This would be my Team for the T20 WC

Alex Hales
Craig Kieswetter
Kevin Pietersen
Eoin Morgan(vc)
Ben Stokes
Samit Patel
Jos Buttler
Tim Bresnan
Graeme Swann
Stuart Broad(c)
Danny Briggs

Reserves

Jade Dernbach
Steven Finn(Woakes is a poor T20 bowler IMO)
James Taylor
Jonny Bairstow

For the series against WI I would rest KP,Bresnan and Swanny thus bringing in Taylor,Dernbach and Finny into the starting XI.

What do you guys think?

No, but as a player who has played every ODI this year and 2/3 T20s, he definitely shouldn't play the WI T20.

I wouldnt pick him at all for any ODI or T20.He should be dropped from the shorter formats.
