Adebayor off to Spurs
Tottenham manager Harry Redknapp has confirmed the club are in talks with Manchester City over a loan move for 27-year-old striker Emmanuel Adebayor.
Adebayor fell out with Manchester City boss Roberto Mancini last year and spent a spell on loan at Real Madrid.
Spurs and City have been in talks for some time over a deal, with Adebayor's reported £170,000 a week wage packet proving to be the only real problem.

Another self-centred, stroppy striker (sort of Kanoute meets Armstrong). How many decent matches will Spurs get out of him?

Cant see it happenen if am being honest. On too much wage and Man City would except Spurs to pay a big chunk of it.

Re: Adebayor off to Spurs
We need a striker, Adebayor is good enough but being a former Arsenal player and all that this move could backfire.
Strange one but if completed we have to see how it goes.

Re: Adebayor off to Spurs
Anybody got any idea of the length of the loan? If it's one year then I am being cynical in thinking Adebayor will be using this as an opportunity to shine before moving off to an elite European club?
Obviously Spurs will have to split his salary with City who want him off their books completely but from what I have read he still has three years left on his contract so what happens at the end of the 12 month loan?
Unless of course he bucks the trend and signs a long term deal with Spurs and takes a 100k a week drop in pay! Although that does look silly reading that last sentence back.

I'm sure I heard on SkySportsNews at some point last week that Spurs want Man City to pay all of Adebayor's wages.Soldier_Of_Fortune wrote:Cant see it happenen if am being honest. On too much wage and Man City would except Spurs to pay a big chunk of it.

What cheek if that's true. Who would commission a player to play for somebody else? The world has gone mad.
