The John Hartson Trophy - names revealed!
Below, I have the official release of the line ups for the John Harston charity match next month. As you know, we have been working with John's foundation to promote the event and raise money for the charity. If you havent done so already, please do so by clicking here - 606v2 JHF Charity Page- even if you can only spare a few pounds, it all helps.
We are hoping to bring you a few more exclusives over the next fortnight - so keep them peeled!
The Legends: England v Wales for The John Hartson Trophy
Thursday September 8th 7.45pm
Tickets: £12/£6 from Derby County FC
Ø Show your club colours at The Legends international
Ø Every League and Conference club to be represented
Ø Club rivalries to be put aside for one night
Striker John Hartson has called for football supporters of every colour to put aside club rivalries on Thursday September 8th and join him at Derbys Pride Park Stadium to unite in the fight against Testicular Cancer.
Hartson has asked fans attending The Legends: England v Wales for The John Hartson Trophy, screened live on ITV4, to wear their favourite club shirt nd show footballs united front against an indiscriminate killer.
Hartson, who ignored a lump for four years, an oversight which prompted a series of lung and brain operations and 60 sessions of chemotherapy, commented: Club rivalries are part of what makes the British game so incredible, and they are important. But testicular cancer doesnt care what shirt you wear, it can affect a supporter of any club. I would love to see Forest, County and Leicester shirts alongside Derby, City next to United, Liverpool next to Everton, Birmingham and West Brom next to Villa, Swansea next to Cardiff and even Celtic next to Rangers. It will create a unique football event that will, rest assured, actively save the lives of British football supporters.
The match already has a host of famous faces from football, tv, music and sport already signed up in support.
The England Legends will be managed by Spurs boss Harry Redknapp and includes:
Steve McManaman
Paul Merson
Les Ferdinand
Andrew Cole
Mark Wright
Rob Lee
Dennis Wise
Dion Dublin
Dave Beasant
Ricky Hatton
Darren Campbell
Tinchy Stryder
Idris Elba
Blake Harrison
Simon Webbe
BBC Radio Five Lives Chappers
Football Focus front man Dan Walker
Richard Ashcroft
Ralf Little
Ricky Whittle
Angus Deayton
The Wales squad, managed by John Hartson, includes:
Gary Speed
Robbie Savage
Dean Saunders
Mark Hughes
Ian Rush
Mark Pembridge
Paul Bodin
Iwan Roberts
Mark Aizlewood
Joe Calzaghe
Nathan Cleverly

The Legends: England v Wales for the John Hartson Trophy kicks off at 7.45pm on Thursday September 8th at Derby County's Pride Park. Tickets are £12 for adults and £6 for children. Tickets for Derby season ticket holders are £10 and £5 respectively.

Bloody hell, wouldn't fancy being up against Wales if Calzaghe and Cleverly are going to be on the pitch at the same time.
Then again, Hatton apparently turned down the chance of a football or cricket career for boxing so will be interesting to see how he does.

Look for Calzaghe to target the weakest opponent on the pitch and Hatton to spend the entire match at the pie stand
