Bye bye Venus,
Now you can wear your odious outfits at home, even the transparent knickers.
ps. get well soon, but retire NOW

The flesh coloured knickers were a bit jaw dropping and distracting, but this year's Wimbledon outfit was truly awful.
I am not the biggest fan of Serena, awesome champion that she is, but I have always really enjoyed watching Venus play. She seems to hint that she will be back, but I think this is more likely to prove to be the end of her career.

Re: Venus out of Open
Her game of tennis is much better than her sense of couture.
"Sjogren's Syndrome affects as many as four million people in the US, the vast majority women, and there is no known cure. The rheumatic disease attacks and destroys the exocrine glands that produce tears and saliva, causing dryness of the eyes and mouth and increased fatigue. It can lead to more serious conditions."
This is very sad. Such degenerative diseases are a bane of humanity. I hope she can advocate an awareness program and find other creative outlets for her energy. At 31, with a younger generation knocking at the the door, if she stays connected with Tennis, it would be great.

great player in her day, but these days i don't think she will even make the quarters of a slam anymore, losing back to back matches to Pironkova pff

That's a pity. She always substantially raised the average level of graciousness within the Williams family.

I agree bb - I think she is more like her mother Oracene and Serena has all the humility of Richard and his latest squeeze!
I will miss Venus, and hope like laver suggests that she finds a role in US tennis for the younger generation.

She can look at Roddick (Sock) or Dent (Harrison) as inspiration.
