Ring entrance music
Hi all,
This has probably been done before but I was just wondering what everyone feels were the best, worst or most unsuitable choices ever made for entering a ring.
Personally always used to love Naz's entrances to the ring (hot stepper), always got the crowd going wild beyond belief and the atmosphere in the stadium always seemed electric.

Ha yeah a bit of Ini Kamoze, great entrance track that one was.
Degale's rap entrance was an absolute shocker.
Naz's Thriller entrance vs McCullough on Halloween was a cracker, too. One of, if not the best I've seen, that one.

Perhaps predictably, being an old fashioned sod, I like the no - nonsense stuff such as Tyson's.
One of the daftest and, ultimately, most humiliating entrances I ever saw was Nigel Benn's against Watson. He looked daft coming in and even dafter when Watson put him away with a jab.

It just doesn't sound right does it could be the funniest bit of dry humour ever or I was just told lies.
The one with Benn was that when he had on that daft silver tracksuit thing? I can vaguely remember that one.
Can't remeber the Naz one fists going to look on you tube for that now.

Bingo, trott !
That one was REALLY funny.
The Benn one was, as you say, when he came in in what looked like a pair of silver pyjamas and his old regiment lined his ring walk.

JMM vs Casamayor was memorable because they both had huge sombreros (which looked even bigger as they're both tiny fellas), and I think there was some kind of mariachi music playing. Excellent.

Any entrance involving sombreros has to be legendary!

Re: Ring entrance music
I was wrong about the sombreros. That was the weigh-in:

The fight WAS on Mexican independence day though, so I think I'm right on the music.

Re: Ring entrance music
Nope. Wasn't that fight. There was DEFINITELY one fight, possibly even one of the Rafael Marquez vs Vasquez fights, which had Mariachi type music.

Re: Ring entrance music
hayes enterance music was crap against wlad, and he did look silly with those shoe covers on, and the silver blanket to keep him warm was ridiculous as well.
chisoras enterance music was miles of the mark against fury too.

Ain't no stopping us now is a great tune eddy, and brings a bit of a feel good factor!
As to the shoes and blanket, look daft yeah, but you need to if it stops you slipping over and getting cold..

its not exactly the kind of tune to syke you up for a world title fight though, and whats a cold when you fighting through the pain of a banged pinkie, which i for salute him for.

Re: Ring entrance music
I agree that it is a quality song I just never felt that it suited Haye. You had all of the build up to the fight from him that was very brash and crude. Then the song is a laid back feel good tune. I thought that it was done to cover his nerves and give the impression that he was a lot calmer than he actually was.

Can't believe no-one's mentioned Eubank and "Thimply the Betht" Love him or hate him, he knew how to get the crowd going with his posturing and confidence
Nigel Benn's Big Ben chimes were a novel touch buit he'd usually follow it up with a rubbish track...

Re: Ring entrance music
Went to Hatton's first fight after splitting with Warren (Maussa) and before Blue Moon he came out to "Gonna get along without you now" which amused me. Most exciting I have seen live are the aforementioned Eubank and Naz, can't stand that Tina Turner song but you could not imagine Chris without it.

Have to agree I thought he looked ridiculous singing along to it as well. There's something about that song that doesn't seem right in boxing. It's quite a lame song really.

It's funny how he looks at the camera and then punches the skull.

Both the K's do great entrances but I prefer Wlads he is a bit more TV friendly. Vitali has a touch of the Ivan Drago's about him very straight faced and looks terrifying when he smiles.

One of the worst things in boxing production is the announcers speaking over the entrances. They killed Pacquiao's vs Mosley.
