After the success of Imperial Ghosty's all time rankings I think a ranking of current boxers would be enjoyable to see. Are people up for doing this?

If so we will start with heavyweight

1 Wladimir Klitschko
2 Vitali Klitschko
3 Tomasz Adamek
4 David Haye
5 Alexander Povetkin
6 Odlander Solis
7 Robert Helenius
8 Eddie Chambers
9 Alexander Dimitrenko
10 Denis Boytsov
11 Chris Arreola
12 Jean Marc Mormeck
13 Mike Perez
14 Tyson Fury
15 Luis Ortiz

I think these kind of lists will require an awful lot of maintenance to keep updated as there will be new results coming on on an almost weekly basis which are sure to affect the rankings.

1. Wlad Klitschko
2. Vitali Klitschko
3. Povetkin
4. Solis
5. Adamek
6. Haye
7. Helenius
8. Boytsov
9. Dmitrenko
10. Chambers
11. Arreola
12. Chagaev
13. Ortiz
14. Thompson
15. Johnson

Well I admire your work ethic! I dont think I would have it in me to process of all the results and update 15 odd lists even on a yearly basis nevermind every 2/3 months!

I don't think you need to repeat the list just see if people suggest changes and vote on them. Along them lines

Is it really worth doing 15 fighters most weights don't have 10 fighters of note to rank.

Trying get some British fighters in the list Wink

At the lower weights I will struggle with 15 but until at least Super bantam I can name 15 top fighters..

Ok well not top but decent. Ademak, Haye and Mormeck are top just at a different weight.

I liked Mormeck, he kind of fell to pieces though, Haye's best win at cruiser for me at the time.

To be fair he didn't have many good ones never fought Adamek, Cunningham or Huck but still called himself the number one cruiserweight in the World.

Not sure what's happened to him, he took two years off after Haye but came back wins over Oquendo, Maddalone and Ibragimov, hasn't fought since December.

Well he won 3 belts within 2 fights and moved up to HW after so wouldn't hold that against him or blame him for not sticking around.. Also Adamek had only had 2 fights at CW when Haye was beating Mormeck and had lost to Dawson at LHW the same year so don't see why Haye would have fought him.

Only 4 fights in nearly 4 years he looks done. I seen the Oquendo fight he was pretty lucky to get the decision that night a bit of home fighter favouritism in that one.

I think Haye established himself as the number 1 cruiserweight by beating Mormeck but for me never really cemented much of a legacy in the division in terms of dominance or longetivity. Cunningham, Wlodarczyk, Banks, Bell, Huck and so on were all names missing and better than anything he beat outside Mormeck. Dont particularly blame him for moving up to heavyweight (although I think he could have made a better fist of it) but it came at the expense of really being able to say he dominated cruiserweight for any period of time.

It sort of depends how you rate Cunningham and Adamek in comparison to Mormeck. Personally I think both would have probably beat Mormeck I say it about Cunningham with a bit more conviction tbh.

Depends when they fought I think. Mormeck was ageing even when Haye faced him so anytime after that he would have been in his late 30s.

I dont think there was a great deal seperating most of those cruisers anyway. Haye, possibly, could have set himself out from the group with a couple of other wins as I suspect he was probably better than the others but I dont think there was a huge amount seperating about 4/5 of the other contenders.
