Gibbo, knew that but was actually thinking Chongqing might be up there... about 35 mill in the city-region... bigger than Shanghai & Beijing but not many people know.

The Battle Of Stalingrad had between 1.25-1.8 million casualties. The Somme had between 1.12-1.215 million. Battle of Berlin had around 1.3 million.
(googled that to verify Gibbo. Some of those ancient ones seem a bit exaggerated... but must have been horrible losses too)

You need to go to the Somme to realise how poor the conditions were. I went when I was 14 and it stays with me as to how bad it was.
