Exeter Chiefs XXIII vs Newcastle Falcons
Chiefs have made just 2 changes to their starting XV for tomorrow's visit of the Falcons to Sandy Park. Lock James Hanks hasn't recovered sufficiently from the knock that he took against the Tigers, so Club captain Tommy Hayes steps off the bench to join Peter Short in the boiler-room, with Ally Muldowney assuming the second row spot among the subs. The second change is in the back division, where Luke Arscott is replaced by Phil Dollman. Arscott has a niggle and although he could have played, head coach Rob Baxter has decided to give him some more time to recuperate, bringing in the experienced Dollman at full-back.
15 Phil Dollman
14 Josh Tatupu
13 Sireli Naqelevuki
12 Jason Shoemark
11 Matt Jess
10 Ignacio Mieres
9 Haydn Thomas
1 Brett Sturgess
2 Chris Whitehead
3 Hoani Tui
4 Tom Hayes (capt)
5 Peter Short
6 Tom Johnson
7 James Scaysbrook
8 Richard Baxter
Subs:
16 Neil Clark
17 Ben Moon
18 Chris Budgen
19 Aly Muldowney
20 Ben White
21 Kevin Barrett
22 Gareth Steenson
23 Bryan Rennie
All 5 encounters between these sides last season were close encounters, with never more than a score separating the teams at the final whistle - I'd expect more of the same for this game too
