Scotland v Romania thread (spoilers!)
Well, here's the two line ups:
Scotland: Paterson, Evans, Ansbro, S Lamont, Danielli, Jackson, Blair, Jacobsen, Ford, Cross, Gray, Kellock (capt), Brown, Barclay, Vernon.
Replacements: Lawson, Dickinson, Hines, Rennie, Cusiter, Parks, R Lamont.
Romania: Dumitras, Ciuntu, Gal, Dimofte, Lemnaru, Dumbrava, Sirbu; Carpo, Tonita, Macovei, Petre, Ursache, Ion, Tincu (capt), Lazar.
Replacements: Suman, Florea, Poparlan, Burcea, Surugiu, Cazan, Vlaicu.
just settling into the anthems (not sure if I like what they've done to the Scottish one )
Anyone else watching this one?

3-0 after an easy kick from Paterson.
Great break through the middle by Lamont, and he even passed the ball at the end of it

Re: Scotland v Romania thread (spoilers!)
who, Scotland or Romania?
If it's the former I might just have to disagree.....
Blair, lovely try! nice link up with Danielli there.

Re: Scotland v Romania thread (spoilers!)
ha, glad that's cleared up then- and I agree with you!
wow, great penalty kick there by Romania.
8-3
Ooh unlucky Danielli, that was a great take after the re-start, shame he couldn't hold on to it as he hit the deck.

Got to keep the focus on our game plan, control the pace of the game and not get into an arm wrestle

Re: Scotland v Romania thread (spoilers!)
Definitely,
Romania have won 2 penalties now when they've had posession and are grinding out the phases at the breakdown, Scotland are going to have to keep this game quick I think. if it slows down anymore I think they'll get pinged too much at the breakdown to get any continuity in their game.
Ooh and as I say that Romania add some lovely quick offloads to their game, deep in Scottish territory now....
but they spill the ball and chance for Sctoland to break free!

Re: Scotland v Romania thread (spoilers!)
ooooh Scotland how didn't you score from that?!
Great break by Max Evans, with support lines from Paterson and Danielli.
Danielli cuts in and then supplies a forward pass
What a wasted chance, Robinson is Not. Happy.

The Romanians are a very powerful team arent they.
Wow how did Scotland manage to butcher that.

Romanian 13 evidently thinks he's BOD. Flying forward out of the defensive line like he's been shot. Error from Simo there. Even I know you run straight and fix the man.

Great work by Ansbro. What did I say about the 13? (before that ejjit ITV commentator).
Have to say there's been a couple of very good scrumages so far.

Re: Scotland v Romania thread (spoilers!)
Barclay is not having his best game here. 2nd kickable penalty conceded by him now (although you could argue where was the support to prevent him holding one??)
and Dumbrava slots another kick over. 15 - 6

Good kick.
I have the scots by 15 in this. They should better that comfortably. Beginning to think I went a bit conservative in all my picks.

I went for Scotland by 12, think Scotland should do much better then that though.

Very pleased with the Romanians so far. Quite physical at times and not too shabby at the lineouts or scrums.

What Wales wouldn't give to have a line out as solid as the Romanians! They do the basics very, very well.

Wonder if they have any green blood in their veins.

Re: Scotland v Romania thread (spoilers!)
huh, Romania not going for another scrum there even though it looked like they had Scotland on the ropes a bit there. Going for the kick isntead, tis not often you see teams do that, but guess you've got to take your points where you can....
oooooh no, and he's missed it. Looking more and more like a bad decision there now.

Glad I'm not the only one up at this hour!
Danielli? What plumb.
Scotland have got to keep the ball away from their forwards or this may be a very tough game for them.

oooo scrums are not a pretty time for Scotland here, Romania amazing in that one, just brilliant by them.
In this group, scrums are going to be a huge worry for Scotland now I feel.

Is this showing the weakness in having Gray and Kellock paired together?
We really need to pick up the pace to get these big forwards tired out.

Re: Scotland v Romania thread (spoilers!)
Jackson is giving Barclay some horrific passes here, and no need for it either. They need to calm it down a bit when the ball is with their backs, they're starting to try and force things too much.

Re: Scotland v Romania thread (spoilers!)
in such a physical group I guess you're going to have to use all your 2nd row combinations RDW, so thinkt his is probably the best one for Kellock and Gray to link up together.

rugbydreamer - who do you play for the big games though? Kellock is captain and Richie Gray is amazing! Showing they are maybe lacking a bit of grunt though.
So many penalties!
