Arnie was called Popeye.
Poulter is Sporticus [from Lazy Town]

Any advance on those two?

Craig Parry was also called Popeye due to his huge forearms.

Current animated golfers...Simon Dyson, never stops talking to his ball/caddy/partner about what he was trying to do with any given shot.

Steve Pate was known as "Volcano", likely to erupt at any moment.
And Bob Estes as "RoboPro" (which I guess is non-animated).

Not strictly an 'animated' character per se - but Corey 'Crazy' Pavin always reminds me of someone resembling Charlie Chaplin's love child.

What about Roary Sabbatini theres a couple for him, when he wears that hat he looks like Deputy Dawg (one from my childhood) or theres his other counter part when he has the beard in the go Desperate Dan.

Camillo Villegas even has the nickname of spiderman!

Sam Torrance - Wasn't there a character actually called 'Yo Sammity Sam' who had that same hangdog expression?

I've always thought that was a terrible likeness. Apart from being Scottish there is absolutely no other similarities at all. He looks more like Doogly Donnely than Mrs Doubtfire.
