Cardiff full-back Matthews signs pre-contract at Celtic

Celtic have signed Cardiff City's teenage right-back Adam Matthews on a pre-contract agreement.

The Wales under-21 international will join the Glasgow club on 1 July and has clinched a four-year deal with Celtic.

Andreas Hinkel and Mark Wilson are out of contract at the end of the season and manager Neil Lennon has moved to increase his options at full-back.

Wilson has since signed a new deal but Hinkel will be let go. Matthews was highly rated a few years ago and was linked with a move to Man U. He is still a teenager and apparently enjoys the Cardiff nighlife a bit to much. Hopefully a move to Glasgow away from his old mates and hopefully Joe Ledley will put his arm around we might have a great player 50/50 though but worth taking a punt on.
