Danahar put in some shift in at 6 as well - mans a tackling machine! Doesn't do much else but he cuts the big runners down.

Danaher is a big player for us driver. Not flashy, but we really miss him when he is not there. Gets through a huge amount of work. Am really happy with our start to this season...

He's improving for certain Pete, though at the moment would say he's a poor man's Rory Lamont.
Just saying!
JJ looks your best youth player, along with is it Gibson your no7?

Re: Fantasy Aviva Premiership season 4 homepage
JJ has been in great form, great pace, good lines and deceptively powerful. Clever player too.
Gibson has huge potential. Can play 6,7 and 8, although I prefer him at 6. Barring injury or a serious loss of form he will be in the Saxons this year for sure. Very intelligent player.
Watch out for David Sisi, he is a potential star as well. Played for England U18's this summer and is already 6'4" and over 18 stone. Came on in the second row for us yesterday but is primarily and 8, although has played 4,5,6 and 7 before as well. If he keeps growing he could be our answer to Willem Alberts!!!

Was going to ask about David Sisi, he's been in England u18s hasnt he? Sounds a very talented player - I just hope we stop putting all our emphasis on developing gym bunnies, seemed to be our major problem in that coach after coach since Sir Clive have thought the bigger and more powerful you are the better you are at rugby. Seems to have been a major issue.
Are they your three best at Irish then Pete? Yarde seems good and though Guy Armitage was pretty powerful when he came on - am liking a look of quite a few at Saints atm, Danny Herriet, Alex Waller and Ben Nutley in the pack and they've got a great winger go Jamie Elliott, who is an amazing finisher, think he's made about 5 senior appearances and has scored 5 tries. Also got a very good hooker, but name escapes me! Think Waller is keeping Tom Mercey out the team...

Was a good try from Homer, but the defence was shocking.
Bowden was class yesterday, we look so dangerous when he is playing flat and attacking the line.
Shingler is decent in attack but needs to work on his defence.
The difference Danaher makes is ridiculous for us. His workrate is second to none.
Ended up going in the end yesterday, Lahiff put in a hell of a shift aswell

Yeah, I saw that on GetReading last night stnick, next game he'll be available for is Saracens away at the of December. The youngsters in the back row are going to have to really step up in his absence, and him not being there makes Danahers return all the more important.

Chance gor Alex Grey to really step up. Big blow though, lose our main ball carrier, he was very good yesterday. Could do with Garvey back as he does a lot of carrying.

If Wales dont win by 10 points I'd be amazed - France are a poor, poor side and I dont think the French are capable of upping their game.
Think they are going to be a force in a few years time with Saint-Andre at the helm and their rule on the no. of French players having to be in a match day squad.
Read a really good article today in the paper, I think by Dallagio that said clubs should be paid more to bring through young talent in problem positions e.g. no8 and 12 instead of bringing in overseas players. Very good point - the England system screwed Wasps over majorly, this season they bought in more foreign players than English and all clubs will follow suit, think Cockerill said exactly that at the start of the season.

Poor, poor side?
Don't think so. Still got one of the best - if not THE best pack, and the likes of Yach, Clerc and Rougerie have looked great in the backs.

A back row of Dusatoir, Harinordoqouy and Bonnaire is hardly poor.
Only warburton would get in the french backrow for me.
Servat and Mas are better than the welsh tight head and hooker also.
Pape and Nallet is one a piece with the welsh second rows so for me France the better pack

None of the Welsh pack would get in French side imo, possibly Jones & Warbs. Game isn't won on paper though

I'd take Gethin over Poux, and Warbs over Bonnaire, but that's it IMO.

I'd take Lydiate over Bonnaire also, pretty even actually the backrow. Front 5 heavily to France though.

Re: Fantasy Aviva Premiership season 4 homepage
I would definitely take Warbs over Bonnaire. Would not take Lydiate over him though.
Agree with Gethin over Poux also steve.
Lydiate is a tackling machine and the welsh Joe Worsley if you like but needs to add to other areas of his game.
i think Faletau is some player and said a while ago he would be my next foreign signing if succesful.
Think george Pisi would be tremendous signing for anyone needing a ten

Re: Fantasy Aviva Premiership season 4 homepage
France are a poor side because they are managed poorly - those players should be setting the world alight in every game, not getting smashed by the All Blacks, beaten by Tonga (should have been at least 20 points loss) and then only just beating Japan - and they could have lost to an appalling England team last week.
In my mind they are a poor side, capable of brilliance becuase of world class individuals but as a team they require a lot of work. Sainte Andre will make a heck of a difference, believe he could turn France into a top3 team, as the resources he has available is incredible.
As a collective, and on form I'd put the Welsh ahead - never thought I'd say that but their backrow shut Ireland's out of the game last week and I think they will do the same against France who wont ever tick when they play Parra at 10...

Not a big fan of Bonnaire really, he's dropped a fair bit last year, getting on I think. Still awsome in the lineout but Lydiate offers more around the park for me.

Bonnaire is a good player but I'd take Warbs any day.
Think French front five could dominate, but I expect a close game.
Can't see past the All Blacks anyway. Cruden is a much better option than Slade and think with Weepu playing well and Read back, they will have enough to see off Aus.

Aus v NZ could be a classic. Oz didn't perform in NZ in the tri nations but blew them out of the water at Home. So they can do it its just improbable that they will.
I would love to see Oz go with a backline of
9. Genia
10. Cooper
11. Ioane
12. JOC
13. AAC
14. Mitchell
15. Beale
but can't see it happening

crikey. That will make things interesting. McCabe plays a lot at full back. That brings Barnes back in, Perhaps they will look for Faainga to just chop Nonu/Smith/SBW down all day.

Bonnaire was poor last year but has been great in the wc. Carried well. Great lineout etc.
I don't see lydiate as offering much bar tackling yet. That said I think the Wales backrow will be around for years and will be some unit.
Warbs so impressive and easily best 7 of competition so far

Don't recall this being the case either to be honest. I thought we just agreed to up the squad size to 55 for the season to accomodate the World Cup.
Bit annoyed to be having to sack players to be honest.
